There comes a point where people WANT to be Homeless. I walk to work every day, and I pass a dude sleeping in an ever-increasing pile of Natty Daddy cans and McDonalds Wrappers. For Three Years he's been there. There are jobs he can do. Shit, he can apply at Walmart to push a broom and start at almost 3 dollars more an hour than Minimum Wage. But it's easier for him to drink and eat handouts from people who do work. I've got a policy, I'll give any homeless some money... once. Maybe twice, if he's visibly missing his legs or some shit. But if I see any evidence that you don't want to stop being homeless, then you're just a damn bum.
My point? There are homes for the homeless. To get one, you first have to get one of the jobs for the jobless. If 10 Jobless get together and get Jobs, they can rent and share an apartment, buy a house, have some semblance of shelter and even comfort, if not damn luxury. But it would require them to have the personal pride to take the harder road and put in the work.
I agree, I used to work in a big city with a homeless problem and it was honestly amazing the resources that were available for them. Like people would ask them to leave and then call the cops when they wouldn't and these groups would show up offering to take them to a shelter instead, offering them work programs and rehab etc. etc.
I'm convinced the overwhelming majority of homeless are drug addicts or just people who can't be bothered to cooperate with anyone reliably.
I guess really what I'm talking about is shelters, I support the idea of there being some ind of state-funded shelter you can go to if you're homeless. But yeah if we just gave these people nice lower/middle class houses they would likely just destroy them.
Oh, I'm totally in favor of temporary shelters for someone who got dealt a shit hand. That stuff happens, I've seen it. Happy as a clam, going about your life, BAM, husband dies in the same fire that destroys the house that he didn't insure because he just sank all the savings into the new business that you can't run without him. That woman needs a hand until she can get shit under control, and I'll gladly give that hand. But the woman who let her house slowly fall apart because she never got off the couch, and now lives in the ruins of a life she was able to maintain all along if she'd stood up? Sorry, she's on her own.
The stupidest thing is that they are completely ignoring homeowners. Imagine somebody owns a couple of apartments and is working full time as a janitor for those apartments while renting them to some people. Now all those people suddenly stop paying rent, because the government told them they didn't have to. What happens to the owner, whose sole income was that rent?
I have tried asking this question on Reddit in subs like politics, corona, etc. wherever some notion of this came up, and I was banned from every single one of them. The left only thinks about itself and any view that does not conform to that is immediately censored.
And to anyone that is about to tell me to stop using Reddit: I am mainly using it to try to redpill some people like this :D
"I want to Create Something!" Vs "I want you to give me what you created!"
It is literally as diametrically opposed as GOD, the Creator Almighty, who maketh ALL THINGS, and the fuckin' DEVIL, who goes "Yeah, but know what? Fuck Him, y'all should bow to ME, 'cause I want it!"
Democrat Gimme-Dat
When they're not attempting to have you arrested for refusing to wax their lady balls, they're always on the hunt for another handout from Uncle Suger.
Some one should suggest cancelling property tax if they wanna cancel rent...see how well that goes over
"Let me pay my bills" versus "make someone else pay my bills".
Lazy, not lazy
Simple as that
Eh, I kinda like that.
OK, it's a batshit crazy communist.
