Anyone who thinks this were not around in the 1960's and 1970's-- this a fucking Baptist Sunday afternoon picnic compared to those times-

Several politicians assassinated as well as Civil Rights leaders, the draft and Vietnam, Haight Ashbury, sexual revolution, rise in domestic terrorist organizations who actually committed acts of violence, Bay of Pigs, Cuban Missle Crisis, race riots, DNC convention riots, rock stars dropping dead like flies, Manson Murders- Helter Skelter, emergence of serial killers, Iran hostage situation, plane hijackings being a regular occurrence, Munich, Mai Lai, Watergate, desegregation, NYC on the verge of bankruptcy, Jonestown, escalation of the Cold War, Texas Tower sniper, ---

I can keep going.

You're comparing two decades worth of political and societal strife with less than five years of a Trump political cycle. The kicker is that we've already had most of those things on your list in those short five years.

Where we go from here depends on us. If we're complacent, the end is accelerated. If we fight, we have a chance.

Most of those things? What? What is even close to the Cuban Missle crisis, political assassination, literal terrorist groups on college campuses, Vietnam/draft?

While it is true we have avoided war, and thus a draft, so far, we have had the North Korea missile crisis, Republican congressional baseball team attempted assassination, ANTIFA and Soc Dem violence at Milo Yiannopoulos speeches.

What's the difference? I'm talking about political turbulence- this is nothing compared to the 60's and 70's. Literally.

The different between then and now is the difference between liberal and leftists.

Hippie "liberals" at least valued free speech and due process. They were against political violence. They had some respect for individual liberty. Look at the Beatles' "Revolution" Lyrics..."if you want money for Che and Mao, don't bother to come around anyhow"

Today's leftists are anti free speech, anti due process, pro-violence, pro-communism. It's completely different and that's the scary part.

Of course the "60's liberals" are ultimately to blame. They are the ones who have controlled all the institutions the past 30 years, and they allowed their ideology to devolve into this.
