Well, we could keep the Dems from getting into power forever if somebody here fucking started listening to me as it is really simple to pull off: we, i.e. some determined patriots, should start a new party that targets Dem voters. We promise them the shit they want and get 10% of Dem voters to trust us which is enough to keep them out of the White House forever. And then once in the government, we obviously won't keep our word and go full nationalist, pretending it's for the good of our voters, the environment, women's rights, bla bla. You can sell anything nationalist to leftist voters if you make them believe it helps them, i.e. mass deportations will help give jobs to minorities and save money which will reduce crime, helps finance free education and cheap healthcare. Most voters are so stupid, they will buy it.
PS: the end of Rome was a result of letting in the Visigoth refugees which then infiltrated the Roman government and army and took Rome over from within.
The left is very good at this. Any organization not explicitly right-wing will soon be taken over by the left. Just look at the Republican Party, the Libertarian Party, the Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts.
Even freaking Chick Fil A has been infiltrated by the left to the point where they are no longer donating to the Salvation Army, which itself will probably be taken over by the left soon.
Promising and not delivering should never be an option-- especially when there's no intention of following through. Promising and getting stonewalled by your own party and or the legislature is one thing. Intentionally misleading as a means to an end is Dems/Lib shit. Hard pass.
