Hey, remember when we were told the Patriot Act was just a temporary means to combat the internal threat of islamofascism and then was never used for that but instead was used against American citizens and even used against a political candidate running for President?

Yeah, that was cool.

Oh, it is even worse than that, the initial income taxes were to pay off war bonds...for World War 1

Toll road scam.

16
Quietam_Unum 16 points ago +16 / -0

Massachusetts (1957): We will tear down the tollbooths when the bonds are paid off.

Massachusetts (1980s): Original construction bonds paid off but so many patronage jobs and such a rich "pot o' gold" the tolls stay.

Massachusetts (1990s): Tolls go toward the HUGE cost overruns on the "Big Dig" central artery project.

Massachusetts (2000s): Tolls still up. Politicians so love E-Z Pay tolls and electronic collection that they propose erecting gantrys on major state roads.

Yeah, toll road scam is right.

4
Shamb3 4 points ago +4 / -0

Well at least they didn't sell the toll road to a private company yet... or a foreign private company...

2
CuomoisaMassMurderer 2 points ago +2 / -0

Chinese owned infrastructure is in fashion just like an onion on your belt: pay toll prease, and have some Kung Flu for your troubles

12
adawk91 12 points ago +12 / -0

it’s a tax/ debt dual weapon designed to reward those who supported the pro-intervention federal political establishment.

how it worked was, the people who bought the war bonds (ie lent money to the war effort) were “paid back” through income redistribution. so the more bonds you buy, the more money gets redistributed to you after we win.

because bonds were and are a financial instrument typically utilized by the wealthy, this was a way to “buy” support for the war among the wealthy. those who couldn’t afford to participate in this scheme were then drafted as cannon fodder.

ooh ooh i've got one! in CA we kept voting for our high speed rail and we put billions of dollars towards it. only a few miles ever got built and when Newsom got elected he said "we're cancelling this, it's too expensive, and only a few miles are done." So what happened to the billions of dollars?!

I don't think the US is going to fall. I honestly think that things will become so intolerable that people will move to areas of the country that desire to live the way they want to live. I'm leaving CA in August and I'm bringing my grama, both parents, two brothers, my wife and kids, my business, and selling my real estate investments to repurchase closer to my new home. I think this is the new trend. Red states get more red, blue states get more blue. Eventually it becomes too costly for the feds to bully everybody and states assume more power in our lives like it was pre civil war. The only thing that can screw it up is immigration. Stop immigration now or it all goes blue and civilisation falls.

And you're right... It's very funny. My grandmother says libs are getting hoisted on their own retard. I love a good pun

18
duvalpede 18 points ago +19 / -1

Immigration MUST cease. The wall is a good start, but we need a 100-year moratorium on it. We've got a lot of shit to sort out and we don't need more foreign-born individuals coming here to further the divides.

11
sun_wolf 11 points ago +13 / -2

I say if we prove that there was an organized and systematic plot by international organizations - globalists and other secret societies - to intentionally dilute the demographics of every nation through uncontrolled mass immigration, then I think that would be legitimate legal and moral grounds to start stripping people of citizenship. This sounds extreme, but the way I see it, if the enemy stabs you with a knife, you are allowed to remove the knife. You aren’t under some obligation to keep the knife there because it would be “wrong” to undo your enemy’s attack. Obviously stripping citizenship would be very harsh, but I prefer that to this other attitude of “It’s too late. The globalists won. The demographics have already been changed.” Fuck that shit. We all know who belongs in what country. We could sort everyone out in about a year. All these Chinese dudes who don’t speak English walking around in Minnesota and Australia? They are Chinese, not Minnesotan, not Australian. And the Muslims walking around in China are Arab, not Chinese, and the Australian dude living in Japan is Australian, not Japanese. I’m not even playing favorites with any of this: same rules for every country. We undo what the globalists have done to our Earth and go back to normal.

1
Licensetomeme 1 point ago +1 / -0

Makes me sad to hear that as an aspiring would-be American citizen, but I'd be a hypocrite if I were to call it out. My country, Canada, has been importing certain fanatically peaceful individuals, as well as people from less than friendly countries as a bandaid solution to our decaying infrastructure. The bandaids are coming off and thewound isfestering. Open the floodgates and you'll be in over your heads in no time.

This is true, and this is the problem.

History shows that ceding territory to communists and leftists only increases their ability to influence and corrupt others. They will not stay contained like conservatives naively assume. Conservatives focus on keeping their communities wholesome and intact. Leftists seek to convert everyone else to their shitshow.

What did not surprise me yet still horrified me was how many Americans turned into informants overnight. These are the people who would inform on you no matter who was in charge. Just as long as they got to feel like they were a part of being in charge.

America is going through one big Stanford Prison Experiment right before our eyes.

Assault-Covfefe 34 points ago +35 / -1

I made this comment to a few friends over the weekend, spending time in a non-lockdown county: "how's everyone liking their 60 day free trial of communism". Two people said "communism? really? that's what this is" To which I answered: The government is telling you who can be open, who has to close, who's jobs are essential, who's are not. The government is paying people MORE to stay home while they tax those who can still work. Certain types of food and supplies are in low supply. The government is telling you how many people you can hang out with. The government wants to be able to track you with this "contact tracing bullshit". Sure as fuck sounds like some communist regime to me.

16
sun_wolf 16 points ago +18 / -2

Communism = Socialism = Total Power of the State.

Capitalism = Liberty = Total Freedom of the Individual.

9
Isolated_Patriot 9 points ago +9 / -0

Don't forget:

Corporatism = Feudalism = The rich controlling the legislature.

The corporate controlled leftist media, leftists organizations, leftist politicians, LOVE equating the evils of corporatism with capitalism. Just more of their projection shenanigans.

Used correctly, probably the biggest red pill for a 'normy' is waking them up the fact that all the things they hate about capitalism are the corporate monopolies who are also telling them to hate capitalism.

Citizen's arrest is legal when we stop a felony in progress. About 40 Governors deny sick people medicine. It's criminal! 20,0000 at each State Capitol at the same time is more than enough to insure nobody needs to get hurt. I could do it with 300, but getting out might get a little dicey. We do this the rest of our enemies retreat to their shadows where they prefer to operate anyway. DJT says he "caught them all," that means he can help us rout them out of their hiding places. Class action lawsuits is how we gain long lasting victory, but we have to expect they take years to get through Court. We need results before November.

People don't give over power if they can hold onto it without punishment from anyone.

We are 3 months into these and I still don't see governors being removed or impeached for overreach. I don't see police officials in jail or removed because of overrreach.

Even with Trump in the WH its going to take years (maybe a decade) for America to socially recover from this.

They arrested a mother for opening her shop and sent her to jail......

16
HeavyHebrew 16 points ago +16 / -0

Even with Trump in the WH its going to take years (maybe a decade) for America to socially recover from this.

There is a big IF in that statement. IF we recover from it. that is still debatable. We have more Americans out of work now than the '08 recession and the Great Depression COMBINED. We need to get those people (myself included) back to work as fast as possible or else we ain't recovering.

If the choice is watching me lose everything I worked to gain and my kids go hungry or pick up my rifle and go out and do bad shit, well, doing bad shit beats going hungry. And I live near Seattle, which, from a bandits perspective, is as rich and soft a target environment as it can ever get.

6
duvalpede 6 points ago +8 / -2

CuomoisaMassMurderer 4 points ago +4 / -0

Prices are high but nobody's buying.

2
UndeadRevolver 2 points ago +2 / -0

I know right

4
Isolated_Patriot 4 points ago +4 / -0

The housing market operates on a longer timescale than toilet paper.

Person decides they want to buy a house, saves up, talks to a loan agent, gets approval, starts looking in their price range, (the smart ones) spend up to a year getting to know the market and find a good deal.

People who were approved before the virus, have only been slowed down in their ability to look for a house, and maybe thinking twice about getting that mortgage just yet. The number of people looking for and getting approval may have fallen significantly, but it hasn't had enough time to impact the market. Expect three to six months from now the houses sitting will start dropping in price, but ONLY if we don't get back to work and have a major boom in jobs. If recovery happens, or is happening, three months from now, expect little more than a low dip in newly listed homes.

No one who has a house listed right now wants it to drop in price, and would rather keep it listed until things are back to normal. Only a desperate or a fool will start dropping prices now, when the purchasing market is already depleted and

Resisting has been slowly growing since the Nineties. But since the election of DJT, it's been coming out into the open, so flagrantly that more and more are jumping on the train. From armed rebellion to simply changing their voting patterns, Americans are gradually buying into the "I've goddam well had enough!" mindset.

I get so much hate from people when I say the rampant tyranny is far scarier to me than a virus. The virus will pass, will become a part of the background spectrum of things that might kill me but probably won't. Tyranny on the other hand, the loss of freedom that so many died for us to have, is affecting me right now.

Tyrannical government is normal, our founders knew that. Our system was set up to constrain it. But it seems humans want to be oppressed for some inexplicable reason. Freedom is apparently too scary to embrace. It's so sad. There is nowhere else to go.

8
CuomoisaMassMurderer 8 points ago +9 / -1

Those people hating on you for being an American will do NOTHING. Get in their face! If hatred is the only thing they can understand, give them back unmistakably large amounts. I recommend that as a last option, but calling them out on their hatred is a good way to move through the checklist.

Read some from our founding Fathers, just to have a standard to compare to:

https://ammo.com/articles/founding-fathers-quotes

They have lots of sections of these, arranged topically if you want.

Soviet defectors knew US was freedom's last stand. These colors don't run!

The thing is, the danger will NEVER pass. This coronavirus is here with us for the long haul. MORE importantly however is that our opposition are some of the most hyperacute pussies in the entire world. I mean come on they truly believe in such idiotic things as “microaggressions,” “safe spaces,” and never once give people the benefit of the doubt if they can interpret something to be harmful. You expect them to have a rational assessment of the risks of this coronavirus? No. They will continue to believe in draconian measures because literally speaking their entire worldview is based on a skewed risk / reward balance. They can stretch just about anything to be too risky in their minds.
