I get so much hate from people when I say the rampant tyranny is far scarier to me than a virus. The virus will pass, will become a part of the background spectrum of things that might kill me but probably won't. Tyranny on the other hand, the loss of freedom that so many died for us to have, is affecting me right now.
Tyrannical government is normal, our founders knew that. Our system was set up to constrain it. But it seems humans want to be oppressed for some inexplicable reason. Freedom is apparently too scary to embrace. It's so sad. There is nowhere else to go.
Those people hating on you for being an American will do NOTHING. Get in their face! If hatred is the only thing they can understand, give them back unmistakably large amounts. I recommend that as a last option, but calling them out on their hatred is a good way to move through the checklist.

People seek out to oppress or be oppressed but we require conflict, especially in the modern age where much more of the hierarchy of needs are met.
