Gotta normalize that number for the population back then and realize the impact was far bigger than the wuflu. Not to mention the amount of international travel and even national travel was drastically less as well. Yet still we didn't freak the fuck out.

100k deaths in 1968 is the population-adjusted equivalent of 160,000 today. And the US population then was significantly younger and healthier (far less obesity and diabetes).
