So much damage has been done to the profession because of what's happened in the past few months. More than Rodney K, more than the Coward of Broward, more than all the shit that BLM was involved in. Many cops went against their oaths to enforce unlawful, unconstitutional orders given by politicians. Things that have not gone through the proper channels to become law and therefore are not codified in a statute.
Arresting moms on playgrounds, guys on paddleboards in the ocean, church goers in cars in parking lots and so on. I wouldn't want to be a cop right now. Not because of fear, but because it would feel shameful for lack of a better term. The people who gave them the most support and trust, are not behind them any more.
