I was a Bill Maher-type: loved stirring the pot, challenged believers constantly. Ran into some smart Christians who actually engaged me and had some answers, or at least challenged me back. Once I learned that what the bible actually said was completely different than what I thought it said, I started doing research in earnest.

That's awesome. I want to challenge Bill Maher and Dawkins. I can totally make them tick.

Do atheists not believe in an intelligent designer at all? Pure chance? The statistics on that are alarming from a basic science perspective. "it must be that way because here we are" is fallacious on either side of an argument. Which is why faith is needed for modern science as well.

Looking at the fractals between nature and cosmos, and the macro/micro similarities of everything just doesn't seem accidental to me. I think science needs to start assuming design and prove otherwise.

I'm becoming more of a believer of it the greater I understand it post conversion.

I believe in both the scientific story AND the biblical/intelligent Design versions, but new to ID.

And with the Trinity it completely negates the cognitive dissonance that atheists like Richard Dawkins are so afraid of.....

Love to be a friend too.

No, atheists for the most part specifically reject intelligent design (some ancient aliens type people probably buy into it from that angle) Not even all theists believe in that.

Re: pure chance, many of them believe that, but there isn't really an atheist doctrine

I think a lot of people around here did. I went through that right around Nov 2016.

What's on your mind?

Oh, I'm still body healing so I'm going through holy fire/hyperthyroidism fits.

I was a scientific/super nerd sort of atheist so I like unionizing my religious tongue and with my secular tongue. And I studied about every field for 14 years during that time and had to unionize all that knowledge with God so I could truly believe.

Haha

Anything on your mind?

Well it can be difficult for your body to accept that it had been lying to itself for entire life. Have you experienced any positive physical changes?

Yeah, I'd say super-nerd atheist would be a suitable description of myself, as well.

Unionizing information is what brought me to God. While I understand the importance of belief/ faith, I never experienced it... unless you call opening myself up to the new information/ ways of viewing information.

Re: anything in my mind

I suppose lately I've been focusing my thoughts on the nature of 7, it's spiritual significance. Virtually any religious doctrine (Christian or otherwise) places a lot of importance on it... but while I have formulated some ideas that make sense of it, none have been anything even remotely as intriguing as the trinity, which makes me thinj I'm missing something.

But, anyway, I'm always up to chat

Yes, how do I add you as a friend?

I came to the same conclusion about Trinity too.

I used the Trinity as sort of the link at the beginning and then kept popping up in other situations as well.

I don't think there is a way of adding friends, but it appears that DMs/PMs go into a separate inbox... so that can function as a pseudo friends list. I'll send you one

I was a hardcore, hyper-militant atheist who absolutely scorned the idea of God and mocked belief and believers. God called, however, and brought me to him.
