Gov Brown appointed the Baker County judge. And I believe also appointed 5 of the 7 judges on the State Supreme Court. Hoping the OR SC sides with the rule of law.

Governors appointing state supreme court justices? If that isn't illegal it sure as hell should be.

Legal in Oregon, if the justice quits or is removed mid-term. Gov Brown has appointed 5 of 7 in Oregon, and one incumbent running for re-election was appointed by another D Governor and is expected to step down mid-term so Brown can appoint his replacement.

They always retire mid term so that the replacement can be appointed and then becomes the incumbent next cycle.
