But what Barr's statement tells me is that he is trusting Durham to complete the investigation and he is generally staying out of it.

People seem to hate Barr because they've been brainwashed, yes, brainwashed into thinking AG is a political position as evidenced by the appointments of past administrations, and they view him as not partisan enough.

The US isn't the USSR-lite, and Barr is what an AG whose primary concern is the law and the Constitution looks like, as opposed to being the administration's hit man. He will enforce the law, but he's not going to create a Constitutional crisis (see: impeachment #1) for the sake of settling scores or collecting scalps.

If the law is flawed, the courts and eventually the Congress are the ones whose job is to fix it.
