Based on current Mortality rate in the United states for covid-19 we get to 5.942 92,812 (current deaths) / 1,561,766 (current cases) x 100 = 5.942759670782947‬

Based on the data from the 2009 swine flu the mortality rate is 0.02 12,500 (Deaths) / 60,800,000 (cases) x 100 = 0.0205592105263158‬

So from this data the death rate of the swine flu was nothing compared to what it is for covid-19. Also note under obama we didnt have large scale testing being done like we are under Trump and those numbers are purely estimates given by the CDC.

Based on the number of people that where infected (60,800,000) by the swine flu in 2009 if that had a similar mortality rate as covid-19 we would be sitting at 3,600,000 million deaths currently

3,600,000 (deaths of swine flu if it had similar motility rate as covid-19) / 60,800,000 x 100 = 5.921052631578947

This doesn't even take into account the fact that covid-19 seem to be twice has infectious as the swine flu was. If you take that into account we would had likely had 121,600,000 cases of swine flu with 7,200,000 deaths

7,200,000 (deaths) / 121,600,000 (cases) x 100 = 5.921052631578947
