Taiwan is an amazing country; very beautiful. I have some work associates and friends who are Taiwanese (They still live there; I see them a few times a year.) They are great people; very honest and fair.
Compare that to Chinese, who, many times, will steal from you while smiling to your face.
Taiwan is a fantastic country; The USA needs to do even more deals with Taiwan.
To clarify: I do business with my FRIENDS and PARTNERS from Taiwan. Getting to know them and making the first deal was a long process. They value loyalty and honesty. It wasn't just about X amount of widgets at Y price. More important was if we got along, if our families met, if we felt there was mutual trust. It took a long time, but we are now very, very solid.
I have also done a bit of work with/from China, and it's nothing like Taiwan. With China, you get X widgets at Y price, and when they arrive, you find out half the widgets are broken and the design was stolen from an American company.
And had the explosion been any worse than it was, which it could have, Communism would have led, in addition to all the other atrocities its responsible for, to an incredible disaster a large portion of the World would never have recovered from.
