The Democrats are evil but not stupid. They know Joe isn’t going to be their candidate. We know it too. They actually played this card really well, edging Bernie out of the picture without any blowback from his supporters. Joe was the only candidate that they could use to do this, otherwise it would have been too obvious. Now Joe’s only job is to hang in there long enough towards the convention so he can drop out and the party can shoehorn their preferred candidate in before Bernie can mobilize his supporters.
Not so sure about no blowback from Bernie bros though, I had to go look through the Bernie sub after he called it quits, saw a lot of fuck Biden and he isn't getting my vote just because the Dems chose him. We'll have to see if that sticks though
Fair statement. I should have said minimal damage. Under the circumstances it was a way to get Bernie out of the race with the softest landing possible for the party.
