Sorry about the tldr rant. And this is probably rife with grammatical and spelling errors. I'll fix them as I see them.
As long as I have been alive, Democrats have done everything they can to corral the population. Stick with me here. We corral cattle because it is easier to control their population. When the calves need inoculations, they are right there. You feed them what you want, you inject them with what you want and kill them when you want
Now let's talk about people. Americans have been mobile, adventurous, and industrious since the second we stepped foot on this continent as British subjects. Once, our government encouraged expansion and exploration. In the 50's, automobile technology had made the car cheap enough and reliable enough for families to hit the road and explore our great country. The suburbs and rural living were more reasonable than ever before. Jump in the 55 pickup, head 15 miles into town for feed, groceries, drop a hog off at Jim Smith's down the road and grab a few dozen eggs for breakfast and and a young rooster for dinner while you are there. The American people were mobile and independent.
1970's fuel economy crisis. The government started mandating fuel and safety standards that raised the cost of fuel and automobiles. Every increase in transportation cost makes farming and or rural life more unmanageable. I am the spawn of 6 generations of dairy farmers. My uncle is the last. I would have been the 7th gen of dairy farmers. It is no longer cost effective. We make a better life earning a wage close to work, requiring less transportation. This continues through to the modem day. For every person forced to reside closer to the city is a victory for big government control.
CoronaVirus is the next step in social mobility control. We are now being told to stay in our homes or place of business if we are lucky enough to have an essential career, job, business. Otherwise wait at the trough for your handout cow. Tomorrow is the day for shots. We are gonna send the cowboys in and make sure you have your shot and brand so that you can go into public space.
Because some humans are thinking beings with cognitive reasoning skills this has been a long process. We are now the herd, a herd of workers for the elite to make money off of and trade amongst each other. Enjoy the handouts folks. Enjoy living in your corral. Modern day slavery for every man and woman.
An articulate write up and a killer username
When self driving cars become mandatory you will no longer be able to access large swathes of the Earth without having the proper credentials (papers please). Agenda 2030 concentration of the population
Appreciate that. And I'm waiting for the soul who gets the entire username joke on this one. Clearly it starts with townes van zandt (greatest songwriter of all time for those unaware).
Well said and brutally honest. I collect books from pre 1960's to gather lost wisdom, history and self reliance to teach my children. The more you look in books from decades past, the more you see exactly what you just said. Thank you for sharing and honestly I think many people see this.
u/TownesVanCamp well thought out, succinct to the point. I would add that, what changed in the 70s, and started the snowball effect continuing now, was the penetration of anti-war activist, aka Hippies, that got into gov and not long after became "THE POWERS". This Hippy mentality has brought us here. Look no further than John Kerry, and his cronies. Brennan is a commie, but kinda applies the same. It could only be made worse if GI Jane Fonda had become a Rep. As a result we've got legal cannibus in many states, decriminalized drug use, etc.. Each their own, as long it doesn't hurt others. Let's be honest, this is just a sample of more of what's to come if/when they retain their reign.
I don't disagree. Not a single letter of your post is incorrect. However I began with the 70's as that is also the begining of my experience.
I do have a more liberty minded approach to marijuana. As I believe that marijuana is a liberty that no man should be able to remove from any man or woman. It should be as foundational as the first or second amendment. Un-impeachable, unrestricted, and almost completely unlegislated. Marijuana is a huge key to my life. I am a daily user. I am a diagnosed insomniac, the specific variety is unimportant. Without MJ I do not sleep. When I do not sleep, it severely impacts my mood and disposition. I am not a nice person to be around and prone to irrational verbal attacks. The ability to have a bowl at 630am (I am a shift worker which compounds the issue) before I go stop sleep has repaired my family life and work performance. It is my physical emotional reset button because of the sleep it affords me.
If you knew me, you wouldn't suspect I smoke. Not in any way. I once thought that there was a mold for pot heads. And there is for what we would agree are recreational / good times users. Which I also have no problem with. I just prefer the ability to correct health issues naturally versus ingesting lab created compounds in easy to swallow form.
Agreed fully with your sentiments, no spring chicken here, either. As mentioned to each their own, it helps people in need. The rest is recreational, but that's fine too, better than cigs and booze for individuals. The point was that come-around on cannabis, sorry can't call it MJ, has only come about as a result of what was mentioned prior. It shouldn't be demonized, and it hasn't always been, but serves as an example of what, if dems are left to their own devices, is to come. Look at SF for example, people are shooting dope blatantly in the middle of the street, seen it myself hundreds of times. Like driving down Taylor St, and seeing needles glistening in the sun, blazing crackpipes as if they were cigs. Let's not forget the sheer number of sidewalk sleepers mid day blocks long, or the person in the middle of a highway standing there w/ dicks hanging out, or better yet a vagina and pants to the ankles. That's what's in store under dem rule, and that is a daily occurance in the city.
Valid points. I guess that I internalize cannabis this way:
It's status as a "gateway drug" is not due to the effects it has on the user. It doesn't entice the users to rationalize ketamine by saying "well, pot was a lot of fun and I guess it's time to take the next step towards harder drugs.'
It's much more likely that we sit with legal heroin dens in metropolitan areas is because, whether we like it or not, Democrats were once the rational thinkers in regards to the positive effects of grass and less likely to fall prey to the propaganda. The difference is that those same Dems have grown up to love an unaware and compliant citizenry. They want us there at the trough waiting like good cows. So fuck it, clean needles and safe spaces with doctors for all the dope feinds.
Agreed, for the most part, it differs from person to person, so it's very hard to generalize. Alcohol is the original gateway drug, if you will. Cannabis the next step after. Once down that route, it's easy to justify trying other things. Especially, w/ peer pressure involved, think college, club/bar scenes. Been down that road, and while it never occurred in the exact same context you mention, it certainly sparked an interest as a young person to try all sorts of shit, including aforementioned substances, and many others, not mentioned in this setting, Psychonauts as lovingly referred to.
Good piece here!
The difference is, a cow doesn't know it's a cow.
Oh, then there is no difference because most humans have no idea they are also just a cow. How many times have you walked through the mouse maze to get to the cashier? My family calls it the chute. The chute is how you turn a herd into a nice single file line of cattle. You are and have been handled like cattle your entire life.
Hard truth.
