... they deserve for their stock price to fall. It did start to fall some after the mandatory mask crap. The past few days it's gone up a little. I'm of the humble opinion though that any company that is doing this when they aren't even being threatened by the government... 100% deserves to be financially punished.

And demand a full refund of membership fees. They usually give it.

Good idea. This requirement isn't something you agree to in their terms, I'm sure.

That's some quality customer service

They have great customer service. But mask ruin it

My wife was in line and the checkers wouldn't help an elderly lady in front of her get a credit card out of her tight wallet (she was wearing gloves). "We can't do that". My wife did it, and she was pissed at the checkers.

Me living in a draconian state: There's places where masks aren't required?

12
RIPIsaacKappy 12 points ago +12 / -0

I'm sorry 😞

I haven't worn a mask yet. Red states are the best.

4
HeavenlyTrumpets [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

same

CisSiberianOrchestra 2 points ago +2 / -0

My work started making us wear masks a few weeks ago. Everybody hates wearing them. As soon as I'm off the clock I take it off. I never wear it out in public and don't spend my money at businesses that require customers to wear them.

It's crazy how different things are in different places right now. I want our family to make summer vacation plans.. early August. I definitely feel like our decision on location has to weigh in how draconian (or not) the state government is being. It's nuts.

I've never worn a mask here in Texas.

1
Mexicola1976 1 point ago +2 / -1

I have. HEB wouldn't let you in without one--

3
Cesare_Borgia 3 points ago +3 / -0

Is that in the people's republic of Austin?

Yeah Costco is, I think, just reflecting their home base in Seattle

On the MS gulf coast, I haven't yet worn a mask

7
uvontheterrible 7 points ago +7 / -0

I like Costco but I've already sent them an email indicating I won't be back in their store until they drop the mask policy, and if I happen to find another store I like in the meantime then I'll probably never be back.

Online ordering actually has been pretty good

I'm at about 99% chance my membership does not get renewed next year. I was shopping there a lot less before all this and now we have the final straw. It would really take a minor miracle from them to get me to renew. I can find alternatives to some of their products I liked.

I think some businesses are doing this mask thing thinking it will bring them more business by making people feel "safe." Airlines being another example. I think a lot of it backfires as the ones that are really, truly scared stay home anyway and they are running off customers that would have shopped regularly.

HeavenlyTrumpets [S] 8 points ago +8 / -0

Precisely. The fear fags aren't going anywhere or buying much anyway. Companies are just pissing off the people who actually want to be out and about.

Good point

Possibly. It's still dumb on their part though. There's no legal requirement for them to do it, especially stores that aren't in a place with local governments (unconstitutionally) requiring people to wear masks.

3
DeadOverRed 3 points ago +3 / -0

He's not saying don't let them do it. He's saying don't support it. They can do it until they're bankrupt.

Some are caught in the middle, and some have gladly picked a side and started yelling at customers.

They are doing what they want. And I'm doing what I want. My company operates a privileged license highly regulated. State say do this or we take license. So that is what we put up with to work. On my own dime...nonway.

I'm a huge fan of Costco and have zero issue with their policy. Feel like I'm the only one.

Government cannot force you to wear one. Other places and shops? Don't really care.

I have only been in Costco once but now I will never go in again. Tison can suck on my left nut

4
QuestGiver 4 points ago +4 / -0

I never really got the appeal of Costco personally. Everything's cheaper but you pay membership and are limited to a couple brands for each item and always have to buy in bulk. Just never seemed worth the trouble to me. I do like their pizzas/hot dogs though.

2
TheMAGAnificent 2 points ago +2 / -0

I save a serious along amount of money on for shopping there. Costco is around 30-75% cheaper on multiple things.

Protein cookies or Clif bars that would cost $40 for the same amount online or at another store would cost $25.

Fresh produce can be almost half the cost.

Fresh fruit isn't always cheaper.

Ground beef is tastier and cheaper. As is their sirloin.

Chicken is cheaper.

Eggs are the same price as Walmart.

make sure you remember to cancel for real though so you don't get an auto renewal charge

Sam's Club doesn't require masks. After Costco announced they would require masks, Sam's Club sent an email to their members saying they would allow customers to choose if they wear a mask or not. Smart move on Sam's Club's part.

2
Elcidcampeador 2 points ago +2 / -0

Same for Target. However, as a privately owned company they have a right to make masks a requirement. As a free citizen I have a right to call and email their headquarters and complain. I also have a right to shop somewhere else.

1
HeavenlyTrumpets [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

Of course they have the right to demand it. As you said, we also have the right to refuse to shop there.

2
whiskey_shitz 2 points ago +2 / -0

Menards is doing this safety police bs too. I emailed them to let them know I won't be coming back.

IN ORDER TO STOP A PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS THAT AFFECTS YOUR RESPIRATORY SYSTEM, WE DEMAND THAT YOU WEAR A SOGGY SNOT RAG AROUND YOUR FACE FOR THE SAFETY OF YOU AND THE COSTCO COMMUNITY

2
VetforTrump 2 points ago +2 / -0

Haven't cancelled but spent my last two paYperiods Costco budget ordering from other companies the stuff I normally get there. In fact my entire team is doing it. I like Costco but they went too far. BTW that was 700 bucks they didn't get.

I hope everyone realizes that this is nothing about a companies feelings about the plandemic but rather an attempt to prevent liabiltiy in lawsuits.

For example, Walmart's cameras aren't to prevent shoplifiting, they are there for evidence in the thousands of fake slip and fall cases they are forced to defend every year.

I've got the executive membership where you get x% back. As soon as I get that check I'm dropping them like the commies they are and donating the amount to GEOTUS 2020. It'll be followed by a letter to corporate outlining my actions.

Their magazine has been a little bit left, but fuck this commie bullshit. I cancelled mine.

This isn't "cancel culture" over something retarded... like "omg they like Trump" or "omg they don't put enough minorities in their ads" or whatever. This is about a basic issue of freedom, our Constitution, and values. Costco has never been especially right-friendly, and I didn't care. This is a different level.
