What i don't understand is hos did none of the other care takers notice that the victims had been beaten, and wouldn't the victims have said something to somebody?
Just like with children, and often women, the victims are often intimidated into silence. If they complain and it happens to not be believed and the abuser finds out, then they are really in for it. Plus for the elderly, they are often infantilized so that no one takes them seriously, because everyone knows that when you are old your brain starts to go.
Elderly people bruise easily, its easy to assume they just bumped into something.
I dont know exactly what allowed the guy to get away with it, but it should serve as a message that parents shouldn't be put in a nursing home.
