As a Floridian I feel like I’m watching an entirely different country when I see the fake news.
Only about 30% ever wore a mask here. Everyone is polite and leaves each other alone. I’ve been going to beaches this entire time, visited my family, aside from restaurant closings life didn’t change much.
Last weekend people setup bbqs and tents along the beaches and hung out all day. Thousands of them. I went to a beach bar and hung out around babes in bikinis and drank margaritas.
I come home and turn on the news, the north is living in prison still. If you think it’s bad, come down to Georgia, Florida, or Texas for a few days. You’re going to see people truly living free and that’s gonna light a huge fire under your ass.
A lot of northerners seem to think what they’re doing is “normal”. They are getting turbo fucked.
I'm in Florida, and I concur. Some idiots are wearing masks, but nobody has said jack shit to me for not wearing one. That's how Florida is. People basically leave each other alone. I actually wouldn't mind joining the rest of the folks across the nation outraged by the shutdown, and protest it, but here in Florida not that much was really ever seriously "shutdown", so it's hard to make some sort of stand one way or the other.
I can't WAIT for the first Karen to work up the nerve to question me about my naked face.
A blistering education, receive she will.
Starting with "Yup, no mask. Because the viruses are tiny, they go right through. I also didn't put up a chain link fence in my yard to keep out mosquitoes."
Waiting in line for a burger in SoCal. Middle aged woman walks up to the window to order without a mask. Masktard Bernie Bro behind taps her on the shoulder and tells her she needs a mask. She whips her head around, says a curt "Fuck off" and resumes ordering. Damn it was priceless. He had nothing to say and no one backed him up.
I love it! Good for her. Feminists are going to be confused. Do they support her for standing up for herself or him for the mask charade and fear mongering?
I live in NC and I've already had 2 run-ins with Karens. I live near Durham/Chapel Hill, which are university towns. These women are acting on purely political anger. They don't care about contracting a virus or they wouldn't be pulling people into close conversation where spit can fly. No - these women see not wearing a mask the same as they see the red MAGA hat. It ignites their narcissistic need to feel superior, knowing they can get away with it.
While I don't wear a mask myself, that reasoning doesn't really match what the masks are for. Because the virus transfers via fluids, the mask is intended to prevent the water from your own mouth from leaving.
True. Didn't think of that since I keep a buzz-cut with clippers. Florida is still better than most other states when it came down to handling the plandemic though.
It's getting there. I still hate all the masks and I refuse to wear one, but I haven't been challenged on it yet because there's always a few guys and gals around who also think like I do everywhere I go.
Even in our cucked state of NV, people generally don't care if you have masks on. While we are not fully open like you red states, noone has bothered my wife and I for refusing to wear masks anywhere. And more and more people are catching on and not wearing them.
Speaking to my cousins in NJ/NY they make it sound like they live in a warzone and are constantly on edge. Their social media feeds are constantly filled with drive by birthday parties and waving to loved ones from a window. They have truly bought the lie.
they tried to organize a drive by parade for my daughter's teacher's birthday today. My wife said she felt sickened by the idea and I said "fuck that if she wants to invite the children and parents over to her house for a party we are in."
The best way to deal with abusive people and their abusive ideas is to not play their game.
I’m in Michigan, and I haven’t worn a mask yet. I’ve found that most stores have signs about masks, but at least in my area, they aren’t enforcing it at all. As you said, the main thing I notice is the closed restaurants. For the rest, many people are ignoring the stupidity by this point.

I countered with "I don't need one...and neither do you. You just haven't figured that out yet."

oh, that's good!

Congratulations the aerosolized droplets traveled 4 feet instead of 6. A winner is you.
Me too except I haven't had a haircut in two months

Texan here. Life is starting to feel normal again.

You're so lucky. Life is still anything but normal in Illinois...

To that I would ask them “who told you you had to wear masks?”
