Those plastic shields will keep everything suspended at a higher level on the desks. When class ends, all of it gets stirred up when they all get up at the same time and they all walk through the shit cloud together.

yep just like flushing a toilet actually creates an invisible tornado of pathogens as it flushes. It stirs up fecal bacteria into the air which despite being gross and contributing to the smell, isn't really that much harm if you have a functioning immune system, but it's not something you'd want to linger around for long.
