The best part was when leftists criticized the study, saying that conservatives - who used the same language in both emails - were in the wrong because they "don't have empathy."

That study and its fall out drove so much rage in me. I've seen my friends do it. Before I knew about the data, I was just disgusted by their behavior.
But now I have an explanation and it's that they're fucking racists! Who are also too self righteous to even begin to contemplate how they are. So if we mention their behavior, we're racists for pointing out their behavior.
They truly believe that people of other races are inferior to them by nature and thus need to be lifted up in the name of fairness. It's why they don't care about Asians.
When Trump intentionally speaks to the masses on a sixth-grade level in interviews and at rallies, using repetition and smaller, more common words, he does it to identify with the common working man and woman, so they realize he actually considers THEM his peeps—not other billionaires married to supermodels, living in palaces, flying in private jets, hanging around kings and queens. He's one of US, the common folk. This supposed emperor of all narcissists doesn't consider himself royalty. Rather, he's one of us, just harder working than about two million of us combined. :)
When democrats speak in simple terms, it's done to hide their sense of absolute superiority from those they consider hopelessly stupid cattle beneath contempt. They are effete, elitist, stuck-up, snobby douchebags, one and all.
Most politicians do this, they'll practice an accent or use phrases depending on the crowd their speaking to to make you feel like they're someone you can relate to.
