Hey wait, I just realized something: many churches are voting locations. By shutting down churches, the left has cancelled out the rights usual venues for voting.

Amen! Even in the worst times we put our faith in Jesus and trust he is in control. Our Trump, an imperfect person like the rest of us, has wisely understood if he acknowledges Jesus and his church he will find favor, whether he is a true believer or not. It is amazing how God works things, putting Obama in office for 8 years simply to inspire Trump to run. Perhaps that’s reading into it too much but when I imagine Hillary in charge during a worldwide panic... Terrifying.

I pray Trump continues to acknowledge the Lord and for his continued success.

Exactly. We all know there is a virus, but when we say it is a hoax we mean it has been politically weaponized. These extended shutdowns are BS.

2000 years we have held mass. Jews have worshipped on the Sabbath for 4000 years. Then the left said “fuck off, we are God now, and you must obey US or else you will die!”

Thank God for President Trump. He truly is fighting Satan.

P.S. Muslims have been killing each other for 1400 years so I didn’t include them. Jihad is non-essential.

This is what the deep state wants.

2
RapidAsparagus 2 points ago +2 / -0

Do you literally believe that the British Crown would have considered the founding fathers a "cult", or rather just "violent extremists" perhaps?

If you do believe they would have considered them a cult, could you give some examples or sources? I've never heard that concept before.

3

People who believe in liberty are considered extremist nutjobs. Go and tell a normie you believe that anyone should be able to buy a gun and watch the reaction.

Everyone has gotten a 2 month-plus taste of socialism, and many are too stupid to realize it, even demanding more.

20
ClownTamer 20 points ago +20 / -0

The ones demanding more were either unemployed either way, shills, or are doing better because of the quarantine. If before you had a shitty commute and now you're getting paid the same or more to live in your pajamas, and never went outside to do much anyway because you're a lazy sack of shit and have no real friends, I can see how the quarantine's no big deal. Tech folks here in the Bay are actually getting paid more during all this if you can believe it.

2
RapidAsparagus 2 points ago +2 / -0

Tech folks here in the Bay are actually getting paid more during all this if you can believe it.

What, pray tell, the logic behind that, so that I might share it with my employer?

5
ClownTamer 5 points ago +5 / -0

Happens in multiple ways from what I’ve been told from Facebook and Google types:

  1. Anything you want to make working from home easier tech wise. New 80” 8K TV? 3 monitors? New MacBook Pro even though you already have the new MacBook Pro? Whatever, it’s yours. That’s always the case, and they even have free Apple product vending machines, but now you get a personal set at home of anything you’d like for any reason.
  2. They’re paying for all utilities now since you’re working from home, over the price to cover it. Includes internet, which you already had anyway but why not?
  3. Covering food at home since they used to cover all food at work with super star Iron chef kitchens 24/7.
  4. Covering a portion of your rent or mortgage since you’re using it as a home office now.
  5. Any and all child care expenses covered.
  6. Bonuses to help mitigate the ‘emotional trauma’ of the pandemic.
  7. For some of them, they’re also paying for the illegal alien that’s going to get your groceries that they’re already paying for too.
4
RapidAsparagus 4 points ago +4 / -0

I actually have 3 monitors at work. Maybe I should start there.

DarkMemeDuck 18 points ago +19 / -1

I was thinking about this over lunch. I know a lot of these Democrat Karens, and all of them cry "selfish" at anyone wanting out. But like everything the Democrats do, it's just projection. It's really the Karens being selfish. They got scared by the TV and now want everyone to stay inside so everyone doesn't get them sick. That's the long and short of it.

3
Returningtogod 3 points ago +3 / -0

Right. It’s only ok for us to come out, so long as we follow their rules. They’re calling it “being considerate” now instead of calling us selfish. Full of shit.

1

My mother had this notion that there were armed soldiers outside that would arrest anyone who didn't wear a mask or came out on the wrong assigned day in our city. I've been going out almost every day and even leaving the house at 1 am to go to the 7-11 that never stopped operating 24/7. Took her out with me the other day to show her that everything outside was pretty much normal with people going about their business and no one freaking out and screaming murder if you don't wear a mask.

3
splink 3 points ago +3 / -0

I am so sorry to hear they managed to put so much fear into her life, that's horrible.

1
ProfessorRomendev 1 point ago +2 / -1

No no no, common drumpftard mistake. The reason this is a failure is because we haven’t gone socialist enough! If we gave ten times more money, and closed down even more stuff, and shut down even more dissidents, then it’d all circle back around and make everything work again.

4
YouKnowWhatItIs87 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes they will, especially my mom (I mean she’s never been on the fence to begin with, but to her this is huge.). The haters will say he’s just pandering, and I don’t believe that for a second but even if it’s true who cares? Like I’ve been told repeatedly “Trump doesn’t give a damn about you.” Ok well, that’s perfectly fine, but the policies he’s implementing are benefiting me and people who believe like I do, so what’s the difference. If he were an opportunist, so what? At least he’s using the Executive Branch to advance our conservative values and at the end of the day that’s what’s most important (and all that gobbledegook, I don’t believe for 1 second but again even if it were true...)

Our recreational locations never shut down. Just limited how many were allowed in at once to comply with social distancing guidelines.

The left knew one of Trumps biggest successes was helping small business succeed. It’s the difference of Main Street vs Wall Street. This shutdown has eroded those gains. You can’t tell me that I’m not safe shopping at a small business, but Walmart is ok? Fucking scam of my life, will never forget what these assholes have done.

Edit: I was able to get dental work done in CA, I just told them it hurt and they deemed it an essential emergency. Doc knew it was all bs but he’s got to make his $ as well.

Pot stores feed tax money into the State and keep the population sedated.

Churches don't feed tax money into the State and the risk of people assembling and having dissenting opinions is too dangerous for Democrats coordinating with Communist China to undermine Trump.

Wrong, this is leftist bullshit. Founders we’re overwhelmingly Christian. The Capitol building was even used for church services for over 100 years. Each Sunday when Jefferson was president, he had the marine corps band play the hymns during service. Jefferson was a Christian, he was a complicated man who questioned many things but he was no atheist. He has a lifetime of letters that prove this but leftists always find a sentence or two to make us draw certain conclusions about their target. These leftist claims about atheists and deists are Not backed up by any footnotes, cherry picking a quote from one point in someone’s life can’t paint the picture of their entire life.

7

It’s funny. The reason that liquor stores remain open is because they unfortunately are essential for a lot of people. About 10% of the country is addicted to alcohol. And alcohol withdrawal can have serious consequences, including death.

But marijuana advocates say that weed is totally safe and not addictive and no one is dependent on it. So why they hell are pot shops open??

13
HockeyMom4Trump 13 points ago +13 / -0

The government couldn't care less about alcohol addiction. They want that $$$ from the taxes of liquor sales.

9

CBD is a solid painkiller. THC is just to get giggly off of. 9
HockeyMom4Trump 9 points ago +9 / -0

Everything is essential!

The government closed churches because no tax revenue. Alcohol is heavily taxed and they want the money.

6
Cyer6 6 points ago +6 / -0

I think there's something beyond just tax revenue with this. One of their biggest revenue sources is gas taxes and that all but dried up. I think the left fears the churches because they give people hope and a positive outlook on life. Then on top of that, they reinforce good, traditional values. These are things that drives people away from the left. They want to control where you get information and ideas and they do that through schools and media (controlled indoctrination). I'm agnostic and have never attended church, but my family members do and those are some of the things they get from it.

I was going to to say "why do liquor stores need to be open if you can just go buy it at the grocery store?" But I always forget that you can't go buy liquor at the grocery store in every state.

2
Thedaythe_redditdied 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yea more government bull shit rules.

2
Number2withfries 2 points ago +3 / -1

Yeah definitely bullshit. Here in MO you can buy liquor anywhere. Gas stations, drive through liquor stores, grocery stores, regular liquor stores, pharmacies, Walmart, and really pretty much any retailer that sells food products if they feel like it. It should be like this everywhere.

8
PoppinKREAM 8 points ago +8 / -0

To play devil's advocate, alcoholics would literally die en masse were the booze stores to close. We're talking literally millions suffering incredibly painful deaths. It's one of those weird issues where somehow, we've reached a point where they quite literally are essential from a medical perspective.

That being said, it doesn't really matter. The Constitution requires that the government not infringe on the People's right to assemble and associate freely. Even if this were worse than the plague, the our Constitutional rights dictate that the state let people do as they please.

Either way, solid move on Trump's part. He let the states do their thing, and now he's enforcing root-level Constitutional rights on the offense. I assume there will be more to come as they slowly chip away at the wannabe kings running the blue states.

Yep, several times my wife got her flu shot, then a week or two later.....sick with the flu. Last time I got a flu shot was 1993, the last year I was in the U.S. Army. Guess what?? I rarely get the flu, like every 5 years, if not longer, and it's probably not even the flu, just a cold. Mind Boggling, I know!!

2

It's because the models they used to justify the shutdown said that millions would die. Millions. Of course we now know the models were bullshit and a shutdown was never warranted... But that's in hindsight.

If the models had been correct than a shutdown was justified. But they weren't, they were bullshit and this is causing huge economic damage that doesn't outweigh the virus effects. I'm not in the camp that believes that the models were intentionally bullshit, but I can see their point of view.

But now that we know they are bullshit? It's time to open back up. Open it all back up.

I respect religion and know how important it is to so many people. I have nothing against religion (provided they do good, as in, no terrorism). I think religion is important. It's just not for me.

Separation of Church and State.

0 reason that the government should have been able to shut them down in the first place.

9
phibetared 9 points ago +11 / -2

I'll give you a dollar if you can show me where in the US constitution or amendments the phrase "Separation of Church and State" is used.

9
splink 9 points ago +9 / -0

It's in Jefferson's personal letters, so an old "founding father" document but not close to anything resembling law.

9
MAGADUDE 9 points ago +9 / -0

His letter was to the Danbury Baptist who were concerned about the government interfering with the church. It's not in the Consititution, however FREEDOM of religion is.

7
DarkMemeDuck 7 points ago +7 / -0

Everyone gets points in this thread. The "seperation of church and state" was specifically mentioned in Jefferson's letters to assure a group of Baptists that government wouldn't infringe on their worship. It was not telling them to keep their religion out of the government.

2
phibetared 2 points ago +2 / -0

Right, but that's why I'm harping on the guy for using the phrase "separation of church/state". The phrase CAN be interpreted to say state must be separate from church. In fact, that's a pretty literal, correct interpretation. That's why the phrase is NOT law. That's also why liberals always use the phrase, to confuse people as to what is actually meant in the amendement.

1
DarkMemeDuck 1 point ago +1 / -0

You'll hear no argument from me

6

4
phibetared 4 points ago +5 / -1

So the US Govt can not establish a national religion. I.e, you are not required to belong to the church of England (or any church/mosque/syngagogue). But "separation of church and state" is taken to mean we can't, in a mostly Christian country, mention God in school. Supposedly because the state must be separated from church. That's a twisted interpretation, with bad condequences. That's why the phrase is not found any where in real law. It's mostly used by liberals to anihilate christians.

How does people losing their jobs help Trump get re-elected? How is that "for the greater good"?

I'm already voting for him. I'm not going to not vote for him. But losing my job because my Governor is allowed to be a petulant commie fuck is not me "doing my part". Losing my house is not a "sacrifice that is worth it". That doesn't even make sense. That's current actual lefty-logic.

1
stratocaster_patriot 1 point ago +1 / -0

This was the type of comment I was looking for because I have a question. What would that order be? When I see that Trump will override I'm not sure how. I don't think he can use an EO. The 1st amendment applies to Congress, not governors so I think that's out and would probably end up in the courts anyway. I'm curious what legal avenues exist. All I can think of is that he will threaten to cut off funding but that's not a true override. He must have something up his sleeve but I can't think of what.
