Likely what he said. But when you already have the "beat" word in your head, it's really hard to listen to it and not hear the 't' at the end of 'be'.
Agree, he said BE Joe, not BEAT Joe. Although I wouldn't put it past him to say something that stupid. He should just go listen to a record and chill.
