Joe Biden likely doesn't know where he is half the time, but he didn't say "I'll beat Joe Biden", he said "I'll BE Joe Biden" - that's why he referenced his tenure and record.

Logically, it does make sense that's what he said, but I'm fairly sure there's a 't' in there. He might not have meant to say "beat', but it sure sounds like he did.
