Now that actual doctors are pointing out the harmful health ramifications from the shutdown...missed cancer screenings, children missing vaccines for measles and polio, missed dental care, mental health and the suicide rate, higher rates of alcohol and drug use, sitting home all day getting fat, depression that comes from not working and having a paycheck, loneliness and isolation of our elderly, teenagers missing their friends and not having those socialization experiences they need, missed vitamin D from not being outside and beaches closing, missed physical activity from fencing up playgrounds and pouring sand in skateparks...
Sitting home day after day alone inside is not healthy. The unintended consequences of this shutdown are horrible for public health. Horrible.
