Honestly, I think a lot of churches have been swayed by worldly wisdom and mistaken it for Godly wisdom.
People at church will sometimes parrot virtue signals they heard on TV because they believe they are trying to imitate good, and they don't actually think through the meaning of those words.
Or in situations like we are experiencing now, Christians seem to forget all the verses telling them not to be afraid, and instead think the Bible says "Do not be afraid...unless there is a virus, then you should have a spirit of fear and cowardice."
It is disgusting and frustrating that Christians so often these days get worldly values mistaken for Christian values.
It's saddening!
My church is quoting Romans 13:1 "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." as biblical backing to following local and state guidelines. If the president, who by law supersedes local and the state government rules open then are they not just choosing for themselves based on their own wisdom who to obey? Just as God has allowed Newsom to have power he has also allowed Trump to have power over Newsom.
Wish we were looking at the verse about not forsaking the fellowship instead.
