I went up to the cemetery today to clean off headstones and place Memorial Day flowers for my Mom and my grandparents. Our nasty piece of human scum governor stopped delivery of all the flags for on gravestones, but the local American Legion gave him the much-deserved finger, sourced their own flags, and placed them. I had bought a flag to stick on my Granddad's grave, and also for a couple of Civil War veteran graves that never get any visitors (long forgotten, so I always plant flowers there, too). I was so happy to see that the Legion had it all taken care of. Great group of Americans.

That’s doing God’s work right there. Thank you for doing good deeds and helping the Legion to set the example of what real respect looks like!

If General Patton were alive and well I'd tell him all about Vindman and leave them both in a locked room for five minutes.

Very true. More likely if he were alive today he'd be in jail for brawling with dozens of military "leaders" and some intelligence agents....the ones he didn't shoot anyways.

Gen GSP was murdered by the original deep state, He was about to expose that up 20,000 American Soldiers died in POW camps that Truman's bitch ass could have asked to be released.

I tunneled my way out of Masshoechusetts this weekend. Left the fucking masks home. Just hung up my Grandfather’s 49-star 5’x 9-½’ flag. WWI Vet. We were lucky he made it to a 49-star flag on his coffin. USA USA USA 🇺🇸 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

God Bless those who fought for us and gave their lives for our freedom.

I'm still working full time. Usually halfway into the year I like to take a week off work to recharge and enjoy the sun and warm weather....this year I'm just not getting that feeling of fatigue I usually do and thus have no desire to take time off.

I'd better feel it before I max out my vacation days...

Yes, we owe so much to them for their sacrifices. Now more than ever we need to fight to maintain their legacy of freedom and good!

I do not believe you can paint a broad brushstroke of the National Guard in that manner.

Some movie recommendations for the weekend: Battle of the Bulge, Midway, In Harm's Way, The Longest Day, Patton.

I haven't seen Band of Brothers yet but I hear it's really good.

I recommend seeing Band of Brothers. Very well done. Spike used to marathon it memorial day weekend. Don't know if they still do...

Band of brothers is BY FAR the best of all you listed.

Also The Patriot, The Pacific, and Saving Private Ryan should be on your list.

I always put three American flags out for Memorial Day. One for my Dad, the other for two uncles. They were all combat vets of WWII.

I went to PetSmart and Target today. I was one in three people not wearing a mask at PetSmart, and the only person at Target not wearing one. Nobody said anything; I was just in and out taking care of business.

Man traffic is still down at Target; less than half the people I normally see this time of day on a Saturday.

N b4 we start seeing the routine disgusting Anti-Capitalist, Anti-Western, Anti-American news articles and Op-Eds about how American Exceptionalism is racist and xenophobic and we should be ashamed of our past and are no better than the evil enemies these great patriots sought to defeat.

Edit: And here we go: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/23/opinion/sunday/army-base-names-confederacy-racism.html. NYTimes today: “Why does the US Military Celebrate White Supremacy?”

Another possibility is a flat out repurposing of Memorial Day to be about remembering people who died of covid (including people who didn't actually die of it but were labeled as such). And staying home would somehow honor their memories.
