Hmm, I have yet to witness "settled science." Given that there is a belief that 90% of mass in the universe consists of dark matter, I'd say that the understanding of gravity is far from being properly understood by scientists. It's very unreasonable to think dark matter exists, because it's just an unproven filler idea, a placeholder.
Meaning: The very understanding of even the most basic things in science can be challenged. The point is to approach more and more accuracy as more empirically based knowledge is accrued.
People who talk about settled science are by the very nature of that statement anti-science, because their understanding of science is dogmatic: "I am right, therefore obey me."
"bullshit models"...models... plural... It's not enough to have a model debunked they'll just try another because, you know, "science" must fit their narrative
People like that are great examples of knowledge without without wisdom. Too many leftists confuse knowledge as wisdom unfortunately.

Reminds me of the time I told my mom about a manager I had who was certified in Quality Assurance. Her exact words were, "It's all bullshit. All those people do is put together graphs and they have no idea what they are talking about, but they give the illusion that they know stuff with their graphs." Turns out she was right, manager was a manipulative psychopath who knew little about my field, but upper management loved him because he put graphs together!

This is so true. I can't tell you how many bullshit presentations I had to sit through during my IT career, watching execs mesmerized by graphs, charts and venn diagrams. They especially loved animations.

I’ve had management openly shit on team projects which pumped out some really good product solely on the fact that they didn’t output data in a format as pretty as management deemed acceptable. The kicker, the products we were pushing out were for internal use only by engineers. The customer directly told us they care for raw data and that colors and pictures would just be a useless distraction. But of course the end-user doesn’t matter, management loves their graphs and colors.
