I can tell you why. I've never worn a mask for any other virus that's been out there, and there's been much worse by far. For every study you show me thats says they work, I can show you one that says its pointless. And once people allow it normal to be forced to wear a mask in public, when will it end, everytime a virus pops up? Plus I don't like breathing my hot breath back on my face, and I just dont want to.

Sounds pretty childish imo. I'm not one to over play this virus, i think it's really exaggerated. But, FWIW, i think wearing a mask during any cold/flu season when in crowded spaces is a good idea. Most of the world already does this on this usual anyway.

People wear masks to prevent themselves from spreading the infection when sick, not protect them from getting infected. Doctors and nurses wear them in to prevent bacteria getting at the patient, not to protect the doctors and nurses. Their use as a protective measure is ok at best and that is assuming you wear it correctly without touching your face then remove it before 2 hours are up and either dispose of it immediately or immediately disinfect it. Wearing a mask for more than 2 hours is worse than no mask at all from a protection standpoint especially if it is one of those homemade fabric masks.

The only reason masks are being discussed at all is because COVID has such a large asymptomatic period for those infected and a large percentage of people who will only be asympotomatic entirely. Those people won't know to wear mask or quarantine themselves because they won't know they are sick. That is the only reason people should even consider wearing masks. They are not meant to protect you as a individual. Wearing a mask is something intended to stop you from spreading the infection from yourself.

100% agreed. Which is why, when in crowded indoor areas, it's not much to ask people to wear a mask for that 30 min grocery shopping trip.
