Someone smiled at me in the grocery store about a week ago... it was such a pleasant surprise after getting many Karen-glares during my day (I don't wear a mask unless I'm forced to). I smiled back enthusiastically thinking she must think I'm crazy. I probably chuckled a little, too. It was so refreshing!

Anyway, I told the smiling woman how she made my day. We gabbed for a few minutes about the craziness of the world and how good it was to experience relief from someone else who missed our old world just 2-3 months ago.

Don't give up on kind people. I have conversations daily with people talking about our constitutional rights and how much they matter... and I'm living in Northern California.
