Ted Cruz sticking around in the primaries, to try and steal the nomination from Trump at the convention, is the reason the whole Russia hoax started. Cruz had no mathematical way to win but kept stealing delegates from Trump in the hopes there was a brokered convention and he could take the nomination from Trump. This is why Trump got Manafort in the campaign, to deal with the Cruz team stealing delegates. If Cruz doesn't keep going and quits when he had no chance of winning, then trump never gets Manafort and this series of events doesn't unfold, at least not the way it did.

A friend of mine who is muslim lives in Houston. He is from a very primitive area of Pakistan, where still there is no electricity. A lot of taliban members come from this area. It’s like the wild west there and he has told me many stories about family members and good people senselessly murdered throughout his life there by radicals. He told me that he hates muslim extremists far more than Americans hate them, but it’s hard to stand up to them because they are brutal and powerful. Of the three muslim men who I’ve been friends with over the past ten years, all of them have been kind and gentle, loving people. One of them wore a suit on Good Friday and when I asked why he was dressed up, his response was “to show respect to my Christian friends”. So, I struggle internally with the blanket Muslim bashing. I don’t disagree with most of it, but I also don’t agree with some of it. I think many of us would be surprised how many peaceful muslims there are out there who agree with us on the topic of radical islam. One thing is clear, which is that the radicals are very aggressive and that poses a threat to everyone not willing to stand up to them.
What is the difference between Islam and radical Islam? It’s not about hating anything, the religion is evil. It is the main reason they cannot progress their societies. When your holy book teaches you that your god is the greatest deceiver, what do you expect your people to be like?
I’d bet good money that the people you are talking about are not devout Muslims who follow what is written, but people who just call themselves Muslim because that’s what their parents were.
