I currently work in the ER at a riverside county hospital in southern California. We received an update from our director that Imperial county is being flooded with COVID patients that are coming across the border from Mexicali, Mexico. The Imperial county hospitals are overwhelmed and are sending the patients to san diego county and riverside county hospitals. The hospitals will received government assistance to care for these patients. Most of these patients are in critical condition on ventiltors. My surrounding hospitals have patients currently from there. We are still near empty on PPE and we are getting these patients. We lost our yearly raise, hospital staff has been laid off, our retirement benefits have been cut. Yet, the illegals get free money and can come across the border to get free care. If my family were to be inflicted with COVID that I bring home after caring for these illegal immigrants, I will have to pay for their care despite making less money because of COVID. As riverside and san diego counties just got permission to being opening up restaurants for dine in, our numbers will increase due to these illegals coming in and dying. Our numbers are lies. It will be an excuse to either restrict us again or use it as a way to skew the numbers against Trump. I'm disgusted. Illegals familes are more important than my family here in California.
