I always thought Muslims were absolutely heartless to disown their children simply for marrying for love, even if it's another Muslim. I don't like to think our culture is that heartless but if you want to disown your own children for their marriage choice, that's your business. I still think it's heartless & cruel and don't have a problem expressing that opinion.
