One thing I am seeing over and over, even with my own friends and family, is that it really doesn't matter how much qualified opinion, data, facts, analysis etc., that I share as a rebuttal to the Covid Narrative, it is impossible to dislodge the mainstream media programming from their minds.

If I show data that all the Niel Ferguson based estimates of overwhelmed hospitals were way off by the magnitude of 99%, they say it's proof of the social distancing and lockdowns working.

If I show that even the CDC shows a CFR of .4, which is comparable to an aggressive flu season, they say that 100,000 are dead.

If I show info showing that the Covid deaths are inflated as per Dr's testimony, incentives that get more federal money, Project Veritas, dramatic reduction of flu deaths at the same time of an increase in Covid "deaths", the repeat that 100,000 are dead and that this new classification is justified because of the danger.

If I show that hospitalization peaked months ago, new cases and deaths peaked weeks ago, they say that there's no vaccine and that means we are vulnerable.

I could go on and on with these examples. Even when I bring out other qualified PHd's who rebut the Covid Narrative, guys like Ioannidis, Wittowski, Giseki, etc., they parrot the MSM talking points about their studies being wrong and Sweden failing.

There is nothing that will convince people who have been thoroughly indoctrinated by MSM. Their perspective is that the MSM has the authoritative opinion and that everything else is unqualified, conspiratorial, and dangerous. The MSM has taken the position that they just want to keep people safe, and from the local news to the national evening news, they all echo the same talking points and do so in a grave manner in a tone of seriousness and sincerity of a genuinely concerned community leader.

Persuasion can only work on those who are open to being persuaded. At this point, rebutting a Covid believer is akin to assailing their religion, as at the root of the issue is that they have deep faith in the words of the MSM and their political party.

All we can do is find others like us, swell our ranks, and show the MSM and TBTB that there are many people like us and that they will never control our minds.

Talking politics with a liberal is like trying to teach a pig to sing. It is a waste of your time and it annoys the pig.

Their response to facts is to move the goal posts.

So the answer is to somehow dislodge MSM. They are quite literally "enemies of the people".... The first amendment was never meant to be a protection for literal traitors who peddle outright lies 24/7.

Christian pedes need to remember that we still have prayer as a resource. I agree with OP a lot of people are just unreachable. If you know someone with the MSM mind-virus then you’re better off praying for them than arguing with them. Go ahead and let them know that you disagree just to break up the gaslighting, but you won’t be able to convince them of anything without God’s help at this point.

Holy fuck this is exactly what I've been thinking about lately, it's like we're in a black mirror episode and everyone else is incapable of critical thinking, I showed people the recent CDC findings and no one even acknowledged how breaking that information is, and those IFR numbers are just going to get smaller and smaller

You cannot win an emotive based belief system with logic and facts, you must use emotive arguments.

The Bible makes it clear that the heart is the gate to the mind. And that one's efforts should be to have a pure heart; with understanding that we are not powerful enough to overcome our passions on our own. That we are not only therefore in need of forgives but a powerful loving God that can conquer all and lead us along a good and right path.

Sorry for the religious rant. But if you put this next to what you said it is actually quite amazing.

Reading the Bible verses that speak on this issue are even more amazing. The Bible makes some audacious philosophical claims in this respect. That have implications in psychology and beyond. I find it indication that the Bible was inspired by an all knowing God. But that's just me.

The only repeated psalm: "The fool says in his heart that there is no God" The Bible clearly makes foolishness a matter of the heart not of the mind. This is one of many such statements that shed deep light on humans and who we are.

I totally agree! I used to think some of these people were somewhat rational, not any more.

You can only reason people out of positions they reasoned themsevles into.

They got scared into this position, so you've got to scare them out of it: "how much more of this before your husband gets laid off?"

I've had success with "if you want things to go back to normal, you have to act normal"

That's such a small portion of people. Give you a quick example. Here in Texas it's 60,000 known cases 1600 deaths for 30 million people. No mask law, and Abbot is opening things up. Yet the front page of the Houston paper this morning is 100,000 dead!!!! and wall to wall fear porn.

That is why when I go to the grocery store 3/4's of the people are still wearing masks. People are not using reason, they are following the herd, which is instinctive behavior not rational behavior.
