"I see no color" was the mantra of the 1990s when there were still people sincerely looking to move past issues of race. They'd say things like "there's only one race - the human race" or "ultimately, we're all from Africa" and so forth. Apparently nobody actually believed any of this.

If Carlos wants his color seen, to be honored, and for people to be "educated" about his "lived experiences", he needs to become a racial separatist and live strictly amongst his own people. In the real world, nobody has time to care about his background or his self-esteem. I sure as hell don't.
