Sorry I'm in the military and have been for 19 years and I've never called someone an "ignorant civilian" in an argument, yes there are are all sorts of people represented in the US Military and all types have died, but clearly you getting your panties in a wad with someone trolling you means you have neither the thick skin nor background that is indicative of a service member...sorry I'm calling BS on your service. Are trans soldiers rated as combat able? I thought hormones did a number on them which was part of the controversy.
Regardless if we're calling out people for ignoring the brave, then there were plenty of principled conscientious objectors that were tortured to death by cowards far from the front line. Then there was the Hacksaw Ridge kid that served and received abuse so that he could save lives while working within the constraints of his beliefs and patriotism.
I think it is unnecessarily divisive to call out people on a Holiday and to include atheists and liberals in the same category as groups that are rightfully considered as serving in a fundamentally different way from their hetero peers in combat zones where a jihad by "austere religious scholars" is in effect, but on Memorial day of all days we can be thankful it is even a debate we're free to have.
