I don't understand this desire to have congress 'do something' with regards to criminality. They have no powers to indict and anything they come up with no matter how in depth the hearings won't be used by the doj because its already tainted testimony. They can refer all day long but traditionally that has led nowhere regardless of the administration. The only person who can do anything is AG Barr and any prosecutors he puts to task.
Why not have the hearings he says he is going to have on Hannity over and over and over again? Call people to testify like Schiff did.
Because there isn't any point. Unless there are indictments it's all just for show and public opinion since congress can't indict and the doj traditionally ignores any criminal referrals from them. The only time that was broken was with obama and holder and the russian crap but that's what AG Barr is apparently investigating. I do think there will be some hearings but they won't lead to anything.

Thats what we are in the middle of right now. This declas of the Flynn stuff is just the tip of the iceberg. When Barr said obama and biden were not targets of the Durham russian hoax investigation he prefaced it by saying 'not at this time'. Since Barr doesn't bandy words you can bet he isn't going to waste prosecution time on something like a soft coup when he can get them on high level treason charges instead. Them selling us out to anyone with a fat bank account including our geopolitical enemies is going to be either life in gitmo or hanging as the penalty. A soft coup is one thing but actively assisting what can be considered existential threat enemies into infiltrating and undermining our nation with the intent of destroying it from the inside comes with much harsher judgments.
The senate can subpoena people in their committees. It’s hella important esp when you’re talking about slapping some bracelets on elected officials.

House and senate subpoena's have no real power. You can only be held accountable if you are dumb enough to show up and lie then they can get you for lying to congress which does carry penalties but none of these criminals are going to be so stupid as to walk into that. They will pile lawyers up a mile deep and block any attempts to get them to give testimony. Thats exactly what Trump did to the house investigations when they got too pushy. He challenged them in court and won. Other than making and removing laws congress has no teeth.
You have a very myopic view of the Senate. That kind of disdain for civics makes people want to disengage it which leads us to where we are now.
The senate, the procedures, the committees have clear reasons for exisiting. And they need to be employed properly.
Sure and I think they should hold hearings but to think anything concrete will come of it on the judicial side isn't paying attention to the facts. There is certainly a place for hearings as it exposes them to public scrutiny and the all powerful vote but again that's not what I see people clamoring for. They want blood and congress simply does not have the power to grant it. Other than speeches Graham can't bring any of them to justice. All we can do is keep the pressure up on Trump so that Barr does something and from everything I am seeing come out Barr has been doing boatloads behind the scenes.

That will happen when we vote in a majority in the house and senate. The last majority we had was sabotaged by too many rino's voting D but all those are long gone. We get a majority this time and all bets are off. As to immigration law Sessions did very good work there and most of the progress so far in sealing up the border and stopping catch and release was due to him. Thats another one that got bad press from the pede's over his recusal but he did start many criminal probes into the swamp that Barr and Durham are finishing up.
