I would say jesus is the stand on trump but every fan of jojo knows that's not how it is.

3

Got it backwards. Trump is Jesus's Stand.

3
KeyboardWarrior 3 points ago +3 / -0

What ever proclaims our Sovereign Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as the Superior is correct.

1
BananaWizard 1 point ago +1 / -0

No no, Jesus was a dead stand user in Jojo. Part 7 is about recovering the body parts of jesus because they hold power. In the Jojoverse Jesus' miracles were due to his stand. Jesus can't be a stand because he was a stand user.

Article on politico today says dems fear the greatest economic quarter in Q3 in the history of the data.

Now why would Democrats fear that?

“Dow soars on promising vaccine news”

When the market goes down

“Dow struggles as vaccine development takes a step back”

FUCK YOUR VACCINE BILL, YOU’RE A SICK FUCK. I can only hope you’re alive to see everything you “built” destroyed

9
keepwinning 9 points ago +9 / -0

You underestimate incompetency within the governor mansions and advisory staff at the phase 1 till November...

3
Block_Helen 3 points ago +3 / -0

That will definitely happen. But it won't hurt Trump - it will only hurt the Dem governors and Dems generally.

When people in locked down states see how other states are opening up, they will vote accordingly.

This is a major backfire on the Dems.

1
Block_Helen 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's not being covered, true, but people have other ways of seeing things. They see their friends on FB out to dinner, hanging out socially, etc. They talk to their friends and family in other states.

I make sure at every opportunity to be loud and clear to my blue state friends about what's going on in Texas. I even have to tell my stupid scaredy cat lib friends here in Austin about what's going on.

8
Afeazo 8 points ago +8 / -0

I feel like they played their hand too early. If they started the shutdown two weeks before election they probably could have swung some more votes towards Biden. They wanted the shutdown to end when they are in power so they can say “trump wrecked the country, we fixed it fast”.

The market, the economy, and life in general is going to rebound extremely fast because this isn’t like previous economic disasters, this is an artificial one that we did to ourselves. If we open up before the election and we rebound like expected to, democrats are done for.

cccpneveragain 56 points ago +57 / -1

If we can keep opening I'm really not at all worried about the stock market finishing it's recovery.

Still it went on long enough that I think there are many more sad days ahead in the small business world.

66
goodbeerbetterviews2 66 points ago +67 / -1

The small business world is fucked. Especially our small restaurants. I hope everyone likes eating at chilis and applebees after this because that is all that will be left. No small restaurant can realistically still operate at 50% while not doubling prices.

This horseshit has destroyed hundreds of thousands of small business.

Their opposition to powerful corporations is entirely secondary. They are perfectly happy to sell out to any corporations they think can help them meet their goals of censorship and communism.

8
ZacPetkanas 8 points ago +8 / -0

My lefty sibling was claiming that the protests to open were orchestrated by "big business." I tried to explain to her that "big business" would weather this storm but small businesses would tank in yuge numbers. But "orange man bad" and conservatives even worse.

16
Proud_American 16 points ago +17 / -1

I agree there will be some issues with the balance between previous income and future income, but the biggest factor is overhead. Rent will have to be lowered to entice the few restaurants that are willing to take the chance at success. All costs of business will have to be decreased in order to see a recovery. The cost of red tape, fees and licenses should be drastically lowered if not completely waived.

Get government out of the way and we will see entrepreneurs do their thing.

11
goodbeerbetterviews2 11 points ago +11 / -0

That is my main point. We have seen an increase in government in directing at what businesses have to follow to re open. These rules and regulations will effectively kill the businesses.

5
Proud_American 5 points ago +6 / -1

Especially restaurants.

8
Vilath 8 points ago +8 / -0

The great thing about the community I live in, everyone has been supporting our small restaurants. Most are doing pretty good because the community has come together to support them. We've lost a few chains already, but not a huge loss there.

2
ippwndu 2 points ago +2 / -0

All restaurants are Taco Bell.

1
thuggishruggishtrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

Would a payroll tax cut that Trump wants help this?

25
Modus_Pwninz 25 points ago +27 / -2

You're going to see small businesses failing through fall & winter, even if they all reopened back to normal right now.

We're all going to be working for megacorps soon. Yaaaaay, being a number.

Thanks libs.

30
mster 30 points ago +32 / -2

The human spirit is stronger than that. We have survived world wars and we will survive this too.

13
TrumpTrain_MAGA2020 13 points ago +14 / -1

Agreed. Restaurants that were profitable before will be profitable after. Possibly even more.

6
goodbeerbetterviews2 6 points ago +7 / -1

Disagree. If they continue to make restaurants and other business work at less than optimal occupancy then they will fail. A good way that bars and restaurants estimate their viability is a dollar amount per square foot that your business is making. As long as this bullshit continues to make regulations and training then there will be even less profit in that industry.

4
TrumpTrain_MAGA2020 4 points ago +4 / -0

I agree completely. However, my point still stands.

Restaurants that were profitable before the hysteria closures, will be profitable after.

Restaurants that are able to maintain some acceptable level of profitability during the hysteria will continue to do so.

We need to demand they throw the entire "shutdown" thing away and reopen the country.

5
goodbeerbetterviews2 5 points ago +5 / -0

Buffets will be gone. They will no longer be profitable.

I agree that restaurants will eventually come back. But not until the government gets out of the way.

IF the small restaurants can make it until the end then they will probably bounce back. I hope they can.

2
slrpnls 2 points ago +2 / -0

Buffets will be gone. They will no longer be profitable.

We were talking about this at my workplace. I wonder if the Automat could make a return in this environment.

3
Proud_American 3 points ago +4 / -1

Rents will have to be lowered or the spaces will remain empty. If I’m a renter, I’d be looking to have a business open in one of my spaces immediately. The going rate won’t be what is was prior to the debacle. Those who are willing to accept the difference in revenues will succeed.

1
Block_Helen 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's not like every restaurant was 100% full all the time prior to shutdown - you know?

It will ramp up fast. In the states that are allowed to open up, at least. Thank God I live in one of them.

6
cccpneveragain 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yeah that was my thought on it was they may reopen now but just the act of being open doesn't mean they survive. I felt like my experience here in Texas when a lot of places re-opened they've been busy and even during all the lock-ups the government allowed them to be creative to try to get by. But I went out of state last weekend and all the local places were either still closed or very empty if open, it was sad to see yet all the people were fine flooding the Walmart to buy the Chinese junk.

8
Modus_Pwninz 8 points ago +8 / -0

It's all an obvious setup.

Walmart parking lot is packed, but the strip mall of small businesses next door has no customers.

How is this "social distancing"? You're actively telling everyone to go to the biggest place together. It's been that way since day one.

This is just a ploy to kill off Trump's economy. Fucking marxists.

5
cccpneveragain 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yep. I changed my habits very early on in all of this because you'd show up and whether you were afraid of the virus or not it was just a stupid and annoying experience. I hadn't gone to a Walmart or Target since March 15 and I'm not planning on going back. All these people whine and moan about no one following social distancing yet they choose to flood into these places in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. I'm done with "super stores" and even though I am still stuck with a large chain of grocery stores at least it's just a grocery store and I found a nice local butcher shop too.

3
dakin116 3 points ago +3 / -0

Same, haven't stepped foot in a wal-mart for months now. Instead i've been going to the local beef farm. Recently bought 1/4 of a cow

2
slrpnls 2 points ago +2 / -0

I've been thinking about that. How'd it work out for you?

1
Block_Helen 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yep, I'm done with all those stores. If I can't get it in a smaller store I'll order it online.

4
deleted 4 points ago +4 / -0
3
cccpneveragain 3 points ago +3 / -0

Absolutely! There were and are plenty of times the government here has even done things I don't like but it felt like culturally Texans were ready to jump back into life as soon as things lifted. I've not even been to a blue state since all this yet, I can only imagine (or watch crazy videos) of the madness still going on there.

2
Block_Helen 2 points ago +2 / -0

Even here in Austin it is hopping! So great to see cars in parking lots and folks out on dining patios. Inside too.

But they're on high alert for that now and China is on really shaky ground with the ENTIRE world for what they've done. It would not serve China well to release another one that's even more deadly. The world would see that as a real bioweapon and possibly declare war on them. Very bad move on their part.
