The small business world is fucked. Especially our small restaurants. I hope everyone likes eating at chilis and applebees after this because that is all that will be left. No small restaurant can realistically still operate at 50% while not doubling prices.
This horseshit has destroyed hundreds of thousands of small business.
Their opposition to powerful corporations is entirely secondary. They are perfectly happy to sell out to any corporations they think can help them meet their goals of censorship and communism.
My lefty sibling was claiming that the protests to open were orchestrated by "big business." I tried to explain to her that "big business" would weather this storm but small businesses would tank in yuge numbers. But "orange man bad" and conservatives even worse.
I agree there will be some issues with the balance between previous income and future income, but the biggest factor is overhead. Rent will have to be lowered to entice the few restaurants that are willing to take the chance at success. All costs of business will have to be decreased in order to see a recovery. The cost of red tape, fees and licenses should be drastically lowered if not completely waived.

That is my main point. We have seen an increase in government in directing at what businesses have to follow to re open. These rules and regulations will effectively kill the businesses.
The great thing about the community I live in, everyone has been supporting our small restaurants. Most are doing pretty good because the community has come together to support them. We've lost a few chains already, but not a huge loss there.
