Health professionals said from the onset that manufactured masks (made under strict guidelines, specifications, and quality testing) will not help. And here you all are, with your HOME MADE MASKS, thinking this will actually do something.

Even N95 respirators aren’t bulletproof. I know a nurse in a covid ICU. The covid unit wears CAPRs (think bunny suit) but another unit had a misidentified covid patient and 10 nurses caught it.
Homemade masks are like going raw with a bar skank and pulling out. Perhaps better than nothing, but definitely not a solid plan.
