Watergate was about Nixon covering up opposition research he had done on his opponent. That was a big deal back then, but it's really not any more apparently. It's been proven that Hillary Clinton's campaign paid Christopher Steele for lies about Trump, and no one in the media even cared, apart from Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson. So yeah, Watergate would definitely be considered small potatoes by today's standards.
