Funny my black friends and coworkers including three brothers all former big city police officers think the cops are getting a raw deal. I reserve judgment because I've been in some of those difficult fights as they have. All of them speak about the beatdowns they've had to give other blacks in the hood when they arrested them and they grew up there. These people knew them. He said there is a mentality in the hoods you have to fight the police at every turn. Two brothers have line of duty shootings and on of them was shot themselves during it. Perspective, thes guys knew how hard you had to be in those hoods just as those cops in Minnesota do. So I won't pretend the media gave us all the facts or that the video shows all. Its really not a racial thing it's a heart thing.
You know how many violent altercations you will get in with the police if you don't break the law? I'll give you all 2 tries but you'll only need one. When people start taking responsibility for their actions maybe we will have change.
George Floyd died from positional asphyxiation because a cop was kneeling on his neck for approximately eight minutes. That's murder. I don't care what your anecdotal thoughterroos were from your imaginary black friends and figment of imagination cop brothers in big cities.
The reason he was put on the ground may be his fault but that he remained there for eight minutes with a knee on his neck is the police officer's fault, especially the four minutes after George Floyd lost consciousness. There's really no way around that. Floyd could not possibly have been a threat for those four minutes and those were the minutes that cost him his life. Even if you want to maintain that absolutely everything up until the point of going unconscious was Floyd's fault, those last four minutes of his life, was indubitably, the officer's fault. It was 100% the officer's decision to not allow him up or to move his head and neck.
Thank you!
I am so sick of this "I can't possibly understand how tough it is to be black in America." It's not even a race divide. It's a political divide.
