I have two theories why East Asia is so much higher than Western Europe.
These IQ tests are flawed and have a bias towards people who are bombarded with constant high-intensity education from birth.
These East Asian societies are extremely aggressively selecting intelligence for dating preferences, more so than Western society. A reasonable hypothesis is that in China, for example, if a male scores well on a critical placement test, they will be given all kinds of privileges and opportunities which will guarantee success, thus increasing mating odds.
I think that 2 is very plausible, but there might also be some elements of 1 there too. It seems, though, that you can have a high IQ and still be extremely ignorant if your access to the truth is suppressed.
It's more the latter than the former, though it is a combination of both.
The third, and most prominent factor is that there was selection pressure for higher IQ in regions that were harsher to live in. Colder climates with less abundant food. Over time lower IQ individuals did not reproduce as much as higher IQ individuals did.
East Asia was full of subsistence farming of rice which is notoriously labor intensive. That gives rise to a culture that values those exact characteristics.
I think the term you want is wise. You can be intelligent without wisdom and wise without great intelligence. Semantics I know but I think that is what you’re getting at. It explains how so many “educated” people are brainwashed.
If I recall, intelligence is 2 components, pattern recognition (hey the wheat grows like shit here, but better over there) and then problem solving. I would add ability to learn as well, because thosw 1st 2 components are no good if you forget what you learned lol. This is why Zimbabwe/Somalia are fucked in that regard. Agriculture, modernized at the very least, escapes them.
Their are other Cognitive abilities.. IQ test most accurately for academic apptitude which doesnt involve more novel creativity based functions or tspacial dimensional visual processing which many suspect plays a role in genius as some people are able to visualise abstract Ideas and thus harness the massive horsepower of that part of the Brain...
Not sure what you're trying to point out here. Yes, the average IQ in East Asia is higher than that of Western Europe. That is a fact backed by statistical evidence. What I am just pondering is where that difference comes from. If we look at poverty stricken African nations on the interior of the continent, it is pretty obvious why average IQ is lower in those nations. Generally, wealth and IQ are positively correlated. But, when you compare the wealth of individuals in East Asia versus Western Europe, it isn't as clear of a comparison; this raises the question of what other factors are at play at creating this difference.

Intelligence is the ability to learn and problem solve. You can be smart but unintelligent, and you can be intelligent but dumb.
