underscoring comment by crazyfingers: the last paragraph of this well-researched article - https://thenationalpulse.com/news/twitter-hires-ccp-fei-fei-li/

In a recent article for the Spectator, U.S. author and publisher Roger Kimball noted: “There are nearly 400,000 Chinese students in American universities. Thanks to Article 7 of the Chinese National Intelligence Law of 2017, each of these students is required to ‘support, assist and cooperate with state intelligence work according to law’. In other words, the United States is home to some 400,000 potential spies from China.”

It’s just as yuri said.

It isn’t some James Bond type character that is the subverter. It’s the student, journalist, ambassador, aide, etc etc.

I'm pretty sure I worked next to some Chinese inflitrators at my tech jobs.

One of them could barely speak English but I was told by my Chinese boss to teach her everything I know. So I taught her how to stand on her own two feet, challenge and reject authority, verify facts for oneself, and do what is right no matter what.

Then I was told never to talk to her again by the same.
