The mayor who was responsible for forcing him into that position was never held accountable. She forced the police to hire Noor and a bunch of other unqualified Somalis and rushed them onto the streets of her community with a gun and a badge. Then she blamed everyone else for her incompetence. Many of those loaded weapons are still patrolling the streets.

I'm not sure why the false though I was referring to a specifically racial reaction. The officer in that case was immediately arrested, tried and convicted iirc. I don't know for sure if the same has been done in the current case, which would at the very least be justified cause for the initial protest.
