This has nothing to do with politics. Let's not insult each other's intelligence by blaming this on one party or the other.

This is about the police officer who likely murdered George Floyd. The looting and the violence is definitely uncalled for but the protesters have a point.

That police officer needs to be arrested and at least charged with murder.

They have a point? I'm sorry but their point was completely lost in their barbaric, ape-like behavior where they literally destroyed the private property of individuals that had NOTHING to do with their "cause".

This kind of behavior should never be justified. It had nothing to do with what occurred. It was literally an excuse to act like a bunch of fucking morons and throw all their inhibitions out the window.

The "protesters" made it about destroying people's livelihoods. What point are they trying to make? That the justice system can't summarily lynch and execute the police officer within 24 hours? Fuck them. They destroyed any goodwill I had for them. They can burn in hell.

So every single protestor that was out is guilty of looting and starting fires?

It's like we're unable to see beyond tribes at this point. The police should find these looters and arrest them for their crimes.

Same goes with whoever started the fires and destroyed private property.

No, every single protestor who is looting and committing arson is guilty of looting and committing arson. Just because some protestors don't loot does not absolve the protestors who do. Their movement is the sum of their whole. If the non-looters want to take back the movement from the looters, I need to see strong pushback against the looters.

Just because some protestors don't loot does not absolve the protestors who do. Their movement is the sum of their whole.

You realize how saying the movement is a "sum of their whole" you are by default incriminating the protestors who don't loot, don't you?

If the non-looters want to take back the movement from the looters, I need to see strong pushback against the looters.

By this same logic, all the conservative, Republican voters who are staying home and not pushing back against the looters are also complicit in the looting.

There is more nuance here. And making this about Democrats vs. Republicans obliterates any possibility for a meaningful resolution to all the pain and fear people are experiencing from this situation.

Stop being a woke white simp/woke simp. This is about reality, pattern recognition, and basic survival. Its the same offenders/demographics wanting special treatment while destroying large potions of this country time and time again. You can say it’s not true all you want, but you are the one denying reality and patterns at your own demise while willfully choosing to put yourself and your family in danger.

They are the ones who are ultra tribalistic and/or collectivist causing (with the help of the government and law protecting and empowering their violent behavior) others to have to be more tribalistic wether they want to or not for survival and safety. The fact that you can’t see this is beyond comical. 🤡🌎 would be closer to reality than the false reality you have created for yourself.

You know what's funny? I've been with The_Donald since the Jeb "please clap"/guacamole bowl era.

I left reddit and migrated to td.win precisely to escape the tribalism and lack of meaningful discussion that people like you are barraging us with today.

It's the lack of critical thinking you bring to the table that is deteriorating this site into the bizarre polar opposite of r/politics.

You want to talk about "pattern recognition" but are unable to see the truth. That the "patterns" you think you see are simply the things you want to believe and try to fit to your corrupted narrative.

You're no different than the "left." You just rep a different color flag. But deep down inside you are as disingenuous and hypocritical as the other "side."

You're gullible as hell if you think this is about cops. This is leftists and dindus doing what they always want to do, they just need an excuse on any given day

There were a few people there legitimately protesting what happened. The vast majority were rioting. After the Target and ironically the low income housing building burned more people started realizing what they were doing was wrong. It was way too late though. Most of the people there, in fact the vast majority still, were there to cause chaos. A few people were saying "this is not the way" but they were silenced by the mob. I am curious how many rioters know there were 4 cops involved or that the cop keeping people back was hmong and not white. This entire thing is pure insanity, and sadly it was expected insanity. What the cops did was wrong, everyone who has watched the videos knows that, both left and right media has said that, Trump said it, the mayor said it, everyone has said that the cops are in the wrong here but the rioters are still going crazy. Rioters gonna riot i guess. Fuck mpls, just stay away from it

Criminals will take advantage in any situation to loot and get away with what they can. That's human nature.

I don't loot or steal, even when I have a chance

Neither do I.

Oh please. It has every thing to do with politics. The entire race controversy is all about politics and has nothing to do with skin color. The left wing in Minneapolis/St.Paul and surrounding communities were justifying riots before the riots even started and blaming all whites via white privilege before the first protest, complete with rock throwing, even happened yet.

I lived in Minneapolis for 44 years. This is what the left wing wanted and encouraged. They were all happy and excited about it too....all night long.

Politicians will of course step in and try to force the narrative to suit their political interests. What else is new?

This is about not losing track of the fact a man lost his life at the hands of an irresponsible police officer who should be facing murder charges.

The cop who did that is fired. The FBI has opened an investigation on him. The Mayor, Jacob Frey said he's guilty. The Governor, Tim Walz said he's guilty. Three other cops are fired. They will likely be charges as accessories to murder. All four of their names were made public. Their addresses were posted online and their families have had to move.

No one is losing track. In fact, this is the quickest I've ever seen justice move in Minneapolis.

What do you want everyone else to do who isn't a judge, lawyer, police union representative, the mayor or the governor? You want us to scream helplessly to the sky because we aren't going to get a pound of flesh for an incident that we had nothing to do with and were in no way connected to? You want me to give more or less tax money to the city and state? You want me to walk around with a sign, throw a rock or burn my house down?

So exactly what more could be done beside summarily executing all four of the cops and skinning them post mortem and hanging their skeletons in front of their family homes? No, of course I'm not seriously recommended that. I'm mocking the fact that you think there is something more that should be done.

I'm not hysterical so I don't go nuts over every incident. This is not the first time, nor will it be the last that cops have murdered a man for no good reason. I've had people murdered within my family. I have criminal that have been sentenced for felonies, even life sentences in my family.....do want me to be more concerned with George Floyd than them? Let me tell ya, when my most beautiful little niece was murdered, no one brought the city to its knees. No one pointed and screamed MURDERER at her murderer. Do you know how grateful I would be if I was just given one minute, even fifteen seconds to make a victim impact statement? So you think I should wail more loudly and keep vigilance more for George Floyd than my niece?

Come one, exactly what more do you want to be done for George Floyd?

I'm mocking the fact that you think there is something more that should be done.

When did I say more should be done? It's almost as if you're not having a dialogue with me but instead forcing this discussion to deteriorate into the typical "left" vs. "right" narrative.

Trump even prioritized the FBI investigation into George Floyd which is a fantastic move.

All this helps to illustrate my point. By bringing politics into this situation, we lose an opportunity to all come together behind our President as One Nation Under God and bring justice to George Floyd.

Yes, he needs to be charged with at least manslaughter.

But how does acting like animals help their cause?

If all the businesses affected decided to never reopen the apologists would cry racism for them leaving the area.

And don't give me the bullshit about hundreds of years of oppression will do this. That is an intellectually dishonest and childish statement to make.

But how does acting like animals help their cause?

It doesn't. There is no excuse for what these criminals are doing.

And don't give me the bullshit about hundreds of years of oppression will do this. That is an intellectually dishonest and childish statement to make.

Oppression is a fancy word for making excuses for yourself. From a legal standpoint, all Americans have been on the same even playing field for the past couple of hundred years.

My point is blaming the Democrats for the looting makes about as much sense as blaming Trump for the police officer's alleged murder of George Floyd.

4
Grady_Wilson 4 points ago +4 / -0

Why should we not blame the Demcorats? The Democrat party pushes the same BS that creates the mindset these animals have.

Democrats control the schools, the city government at every level and they control the media.

Trump is a million times more disconnected from that cop's actions than any Democrat is.
