Hello
As the title states I'm completely new to guns and pretty damn ignorant. I've been wanting to get a lever action Marlin csbl. It appears to be more of a collector's gun and is quite expensive and difficult to find.
As a compromise I was looking at getting the Henry big boy x model (.357 mag). Its cheaper and appears to be more available.
I'm curious as to how easy it is to get a smaller barrel? The csbl barrel is 16 1/2" and the henry is 17.4". No matter which way I go I'm gonna want to get a modified barrel. If I got the csbl I would be looking to get it threaded and for the henry i would be looking to get a smaller barrel.
Is this even legal to get modifications to your gun if its within regulation? Thanks for the help in advance and sorry if this isn't appropriate for the donald.win
Are you just set on a lever action type rifle? You can definitely modify it any way you want with the parts you can find online for it. There is no law that prevents you from swapping barrels, getting a trigger job etc etc....amy states I can think of with even the most draconian laws wouldn’t prevent you from doing anything sensible to those weapons.
Get ya an AR-15 and there is endless customization you can do to that platform ;-)
I'm dead set on lever action. I mostly just wanna shoot at the range. Idk why but i love the aesthetic of a lever action. I shot one of my friends at the range and it just felt right.
