The state is going bankrupt because of all these pensions. The state is relatively small but has hundreds and hundreds of municipalities. Most municipalities have their own services. For instance there is a state board of education but dozens upon dozens of other boards of education. NYC has a single board of education for 8+ million people. Why does NJ need all the duplication.

Also, there is a massive problem of public workers double and triple dipping into pensions and getting huge payouts when leaving office, $200k+. The mayor of my town was a police chief here and he doesn't even fucking live in the town... Dude gets his cop pension and will get his mayor benefits.

Between me and my wife we are paying over $500 a month in tolls, and now they are being raised again. I need out of this shithole.

As a blue state pede, I absolutely support NO BAILOUTS!

I noticed this gem from the article too... 🙄 SMDH

By mid-June, Murphy said, his administration will advise kindergarten-through-12th-grade schools on how to open in September. Face masks, social distancing and some Internet-based learning may be part of a new system, he said.
