It may be a minority that participate in bad behavior, but the rest of them let it happen. If they cant police themselves, they have no business policing us.
When was the last time a cop testified against a murdering piece of shit like gauvin? At 3 pieces of shit watched him do it. Why is their never body cam footage?
No, bit there’s certainly dirty cops in every department. Calling out a blatant bad egg across the country isnt going to lose him his job.
I had a run in locally where a cop was trying to instigate me when i was not breaking any laws. I called the chief and he asked me the name of the officer which i did not have at the time, and As I described the situation, he says “i know who it is”... just by his bad actions. Hmmm....
Definitely this. I had an Incident a few years back. My inlaws have a weekly dinner gathering. We had my wife ,SIL, BIL, and MIL in an apartment having dinner. TV was on but not loud. Neighbors had a party and police got called. Officers got the unit number wrong and showed up to our dinner. They demanded everyone leave except the lease owners. They didn't even try to ask questions or be polite. Just knocked and then started issuing orders.
My inlaws were going to comply. I went to the officers asked for a badge number, what authority they had to give orders, what evidence they had against us, what law they were citing, and asked them to call my lawyer( I have a legal shield type service I subscribe to, nothing fancy). They left. 10mins later they came back and apologized for having the wrong unit.
Yes, we know Doc. Nurses are all totally based, and what we saw from cops in Seattle, California, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and elsewhere is just a small minority.
It takes a real big guy to step up and post on twitter while putting nothing on the line himself. If he calls out Ohio cops, or his own boss for shit, then that will mean something.
Until then, cops are a worthless, protected class of people that throw normal people under the bus to protect other cops. Always be respectful, of course, but never count on those fucks during a crisis.
I hate this argument. Unless you’re directly involved or witnessed an incident within your own department, you have no recourse against them. I could work in the next precinct over from a terrible incident, or in large departments on the same shift, and not be involved in whatever bad action was taken.
Did I let the bad thing happen? How can I testify to an event I was not present for?

Always get their badge number in those situations. As soon as you ask for it watch their eyes get real big.

Fuck them.

Sure.

Didn’t they attack the state house in Ohio last night?
