For me, 1992 is where the media went off the rails. The type of coverage style they do now was birth from the LA riots. The media still shows pics from the LA riots like they are the present riot.

CNN: Trump supporter references Dylan Roof

Also, OJ Simpson.

In the 90's, they learned that Soap Opera-esque drama keeps people glued to the TV. Real news is boring as fuck and nobody cares about it. But report news in dramatic fashion, give it main characters to follow, etc. and people watch it like it's The Bachelor.

Honestly, that's what made CNN successful. It was started on the premise of entertainment disguised as news.

for me started with the Gulf War and CNNs 24/7 coverage, at least tahts how I remember this new style of "news" coming about.

It’s all about money. It’s all about views. The media is now directly responsible for and intentionally inciting these riots. All to get more people to watch their channels/websites and generate more ad revenue.

True. But there is something more sinister to it. Think of all the views they would be getting if they actually reported on the Michael Flynn stuff. We have the juiciest scandal in American political history and it is crickets from the MSM. If there motive true motive was views/ratings, then you think they would have been be covering that 24/7.

The Flynn case, et al, are real life events. This would expose the world to nefarious operations and would show how collaborative the MSM has been in all of this as well as everything else since wwII. The need for them to create content keeps you in your lane with your head down so you can't see what's really habbening.

Exactly, this all shows how niave we still are. They have bigger agendas than just clicks and ad money, waay bigger.

And this stuff has been going on waaay longer than the early 90s.

They’ve just become more adept at facilitating said agendas. That and the technology they control makes it that much easier too!

Yeah, they are Democrat activists first and foremost. Their agenda is crystal clear at this point to anyone not under thrall of their "programming". Unfortunately there are a lot of people who should know better who still believe that they are reporting the news to them and believe their lies.

The media has proven time and time again that they aren't on the side of the people. They continue to promote hysteria. Doesn't matter if it's a pandemic or a riot. They'll try to make things look as horrible as possible in order to get some views.

TD_Covfefe_Crusader 2 points ago +2 / -0

They are on the side of Democrats, because they are Democrats. Their goal to take down Republicans and empower Democrats while also promoting leftism in general and advancing the leftist agenda.

The media "reporters" these days are nothing more than B level actors like the ones you see on daytime soap operas. They play a role to entertain their audience and follow a script. They are NOT journalists.

1991, Desert Storm was when it went. CNN's ratings went literally through the roof. That's when they got addicted

This is the correct answer. This is when the mainstream news became part of the military industrial complex. They helped promote support for the Iraq War. They were completely silent when the US destabilized Syria and Libya under Obama. They were the ones who were trying to coerce Trump into escalation with Syria.

The elites have always known media (movies, newspapers, radio, TV, the internet) has that power. They're just trying to push change too quickly now so we finally started noticing how much they truly can control.
