Over and over we call them up and tie up their phone lines so real customers can't order pizza. Occasionally a real customer gets through, but I've managed to seriously cut off business.
In response, Dominos pays for a few more lines and hires more people to answer the phones, but I can scale up for way less money than Dominos can. And Dominos has to pay for those phone lines all the time even when I'm not jamming up their phone lines.
So instead, Dominos sets up a 1-800 number that goes to a call center staffed with several dozen people and a ton of phone lines. When you call, the people in the call center make sure you're really ordering pizza, and then they route the call down to the local store to finish out the order. This is much cheaper because that national call center can protect all of the Dominos stores in the country.

I would be all for protecting private enterprises but we have given them too much power and they are getting too much protection to an unfair degree. Other businesses don't get to pick and choose because they are liable for what their representatives do.
It's also antitrust. Why should Apple have an app store where the only way an average person can run an app is use that and then now allow apps because "reasons" Gab for example can't get in the app stores. That's wrong and should be protected.
