Nobody would be looting if the store owners were armed and guarding their property

82
ArdentGrasshopper 82 points ago +82 / -0

Not having laws that put you to jail for defending your property would also be a nice touch. MN has the "duty to retreat" and they throw the book at you.

Got into a debate about guns with a friend.

He said "OhH YeAh uR ReaLlY GoNnA StOp a HoMe InvAsiOn wItH YoUr GuN" and went on to try and argue that I'd be just a likely to be killed in the shootout, so therefore we're better off with gun control. And that it's just a stupid fantasy because the odds of experiencing a home invasion are so low.

Then I asked him if he were a criminal and deciding whether or not to commit a home invasion robbery against a random person, might his decision be influenced by how likely he is to encounter a gun on the other side of that door.

Yes, it's nice to have a gun to defend yourself if it comes to that. But people need to realize that they live in a safe society BECAUSE people have guns, not in spite of it.

19
Soon2BTaxRefugee 19 points ago +19 / -0

100% of home invasions occur in the home.

That's too much maths. Maths are racist and discriminatory.

12
H_Guderian 12 points ago +12 / -0

Plus let's think of Agency. If a guy bursts through the door and is willing to shoot me to steal all i have....well I have a 0% chance. If it is a coin toss if I get him first 50% sure beats 0%. Plus i get to choose.

Firearms is the great equalizer and one of the few things criminals will respect.

2
AstronoMink 2 points ago +2 / -0

....whether those criminals are foreign or domestic, and whether they are individuals or institutions.

18
Caferrell 18 points ago +18 / -0

Isn't it just perfect woke ethics to praise the looters and vilify the police?

The world is upside down all of a sudden

13
Cutter 13 points ago +14 / -1

Rioting and looting aside, I and a number of people who I know with law enforcement training are all scratching our heads wondering whether they are putting remote control implants in cops or what. The first things that used to be taught were personal accountability and deescalation.

4
Caferrell 4 points ago +4 / -0

But how often do police have to face a crowd this large, that is as violent and prepared to destroy?

The scene at that Target store, inside and outside, looks like a very dangerous situation for the police

10
Cutter 10 points ago +10 / -0

They are trained... used to be trained for situations like this. You may notice that the only time you see police in riot gear confronting crowds these days is when the crowds look easily intimidated.

Reacting to crimes of "wrongthink" (like not wearing a mask or social distancing) with excessive police response while essentially ignoring groups of people going violently berserk (antifa), conditions people toward violence. THAT is the game plan; divide and conquer.

2
GernBlanston1 2 points ago +2 / -0

The fact that cops did not stop tjos is a sign of piss poor leadership. Every precinct I America under Home land defence bought a shit ton of Military vehicles ect. For this type of shit. Liberal leaders are to blame.

3
ArdentGrasshopper 3 points ago +4 / -1

The coincidence (?) that they used to work at the same club is also weird.

5
Cutter 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yeah, no, sorry, I don't do coincidences anymore. We may not be living in the matrix, but it's not far off, and although I'd like to just be left the bleep alone to enjoy the latter half of my life, I think we've entered the Dark Ages 2.0.

When again were the light ages?

This explains one of the big reasons why nearly all the burglaries and forced entries happen in the urban and suburban areas, but not in rural areas.

Yes, the countryside is isolated and sparse enough that you can do your criminal deeds with little chance of interruption... well, if everyone in the countryside wasn't armed to the teeth, and adept at using their weapons, that is. Oh, and it's way easier to hide a burglar's body out here too.

Yes, the city and suburban areas have more 'targets', but they also have (I daresay) on average, only about 40-50% of the households armed, and only because places like Texas bring that average up. In NYC, DC, or Chicago it's like 10% maybe (because stupid anti-gun laws, that's why). Out in the sticks, it's like 99.9% of us have and use firearms, most of them are pretty high-powered suckers*** , and unless you know for certain that the occupants aren't home, the risk/reward of burgling a rural household is definitely not in the burglar's favor.

*** no, seriously, snub-nosed .380 pea-shooters are worthless out here. The smallest sidearm I have is a .357 Mag. revolver. I keep it handy as coyote and cougar repellent.

14
rebelde_sin_causa 14 points ago +14 / -0

I like my .380. It's very concealable

12
RighteousViolence1 12 points ago +12 / -0

The caliber really doesn’t matter bc statistically whoever gets the first shot off is almost always victorious. Source is from a guy who calls himself tactical professor. Dude sends out pretty awesome emails and this topic was one of them a while back.

12
rebelde_sin_causa 12 points ago +12 / -0

Indeed. Better than 99% of self defense scenarios will happen at close range

2
Rock_Flag_Eagle 2 points ago +2 / -0

Would that be John Correia of Active Self Protection? I highly recommend his content if you don’t already watch him.

2

Different dude. But I much enjoy active self protection also.

2
bubadmt 2 points ago +2 / -0

And Attorneys for Freedom, great channel.

2
ColbyP 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is true. The first person to get shot tends to keep getting shot, which really hampers their ability to shoot back.

3
Caferrell 3 points ago +3 / -0

Its not a gun for the country. The .380 is OK for short distance, over 30 yards you will have to have had a lot of practice to hit someone where you want to hit him

1
sth1d 1 point ago +1 / -0

This is true for any firearm of any caliber.

Noice.

I love my nasty slick little 340. Don't own a nice heavy shooter in .357 yet. It's on the list.

4
I_Love_45-70_Gov 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeh, but a .357 is not all that big....said no person, ever.

I live in the sticks now, and each night prior to jumping in bed, I go over what I will do if awakened unexpectedly late at night.

I may not survive a firefight, but before my demise any uninvited guests will have wished they came calling on some skinny-jeans-wearing-twitter-fag rather than me.

I live in a rural area. I've been robbed, my next door neighbor was robbed and a house across the street was robbed.

They wait for you to go to work in the morning. They drive up and knock on the door. If someone answers they ask for directions or try to sell you something. If nobody answers, they break in.

I have guns, my neighbor has guns. Does no good when you are not home.

1
Libertas_Vel_Mors 1 point ago +1 / -0

Understood, greatly. I guess it depends on how rural we're talking about?

In my case, I work from home. My neighbor is retired. His neighbor is a rancher. We don;t get out much, but we're oodles of miles away from the nearest town of any size.

1
Friendly_B 1 point ago +1 / -0

Cesare_Borgia 10 points ago +10 / -0

5.56 is just as good against unarmored targets under 300 yards and way easier to keep on target if firing rapidly. In my opinion!

1
bubadmt 1 point ago +1 / -0

Poor blacks guns are just as effective as white guns!

1
CapnFalcoAnPoo 1 point ago +1 / -0

It can arguably do more damage to a person as well. A lighter, more elongated, but faster moving projectile tumbles easier, rather than over penetrate, and the resulting pressure cavity caused by the transference of force is bigger.

Sure the AK can maybe penetrate armor and walls better I guess, but I agree that the 5.56 is the superior round. Hitting is the most important thing. That and they are lighter so you can carry more.

To help your cause always refer to 30 rounds as standard, dont let them redine the standards on you.

That being said, Im currently babysitting dozens of standard mags for my brother who is stationed in CA right now.

Keep up the fight for your rights and good luck!

4
Spez_Is_A_Pedofile 4 points ago +4 / -0

I don’t “need” an AR-15. I already own an AR10.

3
unable_afternoon 3 points ago +3 / -0

For this situation I think I would rather have an M249 or an M60. Back in the olden days there used to be a thing called “bump stocks”.

1
bubadmt 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bump stocks are hard to operate efficiently. Even Jerry Miculek had a hard time. Just knowing effective shooting technique is enough in most cases.

1
Gluteusmax 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bump stocks are ammo wasting toys. Take aim and shoot semiauto, you will actually hit targets that way (Reference Rhodesia giving this exact order to the military when ammo supplies dwindled after being sold out by the West) Also, I have owned a few machineguns. 3 round burst is the way to go for the same result. "Spray and pray" is useless. AIM AIM AIM.

2
unable_afternoon 2 points ago +2 / -0

I agree, but if there was ever a scenario where a bump stock could be better than regular semi auto I think it would be when you’re surrounded by hundreds of rioters and need to disperse them.

1
Paul_Revere 1 point ago +1 / -0

3 round burst is the way to go

Agreed. Now if only we could actually buy them...

2
goldbarr 2 points ago +2 / -0

AR 15 would efficiently go through a few of those creatures.

2
BobsNoCommie 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is why I also prep. I'm not into long term stuff. But events like this happen all the time. Better to be ready etc.

2
Tonightm01 2 points ago +2 / -0

LEARN TO HANDLE A FIREARM. LEARN HOW TO SAFELY OPERATE AND STORE FIREARMS. GET A FIREARM.

The time is fastly approaching when American citizens will have to defend their freedoms in person and not behind keyboards.

DO NOT BE UNPREPARED.
